Worlds different. I've had the PCB for a while now and really enjoy it but as I recall there are only 6 levels which made it much shorter than the NES version. But a really cool game. It gets my vote.Originally Posted by NintendoMan

Bumpity bump. I've sent my Elite Forces cart to Nintendo; in fact, twice. They wanted me to send my GBC as well. I think they replaced the GBC with a new one! They could do nothing. It's in the game's programming. The Nintendo rep said to look for a different copy!! I said it's out-of-print (this was 3 years ago). He said try Ebay. Unreal.Originally Posted by GrandAmChandler
Basically, if you hit the trucks, save, start from a saved game, try to enter an area, the game will freeze. If you never save, you can play the game fine, but I'd say it's too difficult to do that; much more so than the NES original. You can also try to avoid the trucks, but good luck with that.
Btw, I'm hunting for the GB Bionic Commando...
And I'd say the ending to the NES original is one of the best 8-bit endings.
I just tried this again on my SP, same thing. I have yet to find a good working copy of this game. It's a shame too, this game is one of the best for GBC in my opinion. You think this would have been caught in Capcom & Nintendo's Debugging sessions, it's a MAJOR glitch!

Well, with emulation it works fine...Originally Posted by GrandAmChandler
I've only played the nes and arcade versions, but I have to say the NES is my favourite. I only played the arcade version recently on the capcom greatest hits disc thingy for the PS2. It doesn't even compare to the NES version IMO.
NES. Why?
Because it's on the NES.
You liked the beat-em-up Ninja Gaiden arcade game best?Originally Posted by Dr. Morbis
For my part, I'd take either the NES or GB version. I've got the soundtrack which includes the arcade version's music, and that's great, but the game itself just wasn't incredibly good.
I would agree. It looked cool when I saw it at Sega's Time Out in about 1987, but now it's annoyingly frustrating.Originally Posted by syd

It is true that I'm not a huge fan of the arcade version...but I still like it far more than the GBC version. I'm sorry, but I have to hate on this one.
Mostly for the lousy graphics, a strange neon affair where every sprite seems thrown together with complementary colors only. I'm a fan of sprites with little detail, just a bold outline, but egh. Not that good. Give me detailed grayscale graphics any day over that mess.
I also felt the gameplay was pretty unrefined, but I'll have to take another look. Could just be revulsion at the graphics.
The NES one always will win with me, though I've only gone through the NES and arcade versions.
I used to play BC so much that I could beat it on one life and even figured out a way to actually jump using a turbo controller.
A new sequel would be awesome, if done right.
BTW, was Bionic Commando a sequel to Commando? I mean they obviously have similar names and Capcom put Super Joe in both of them.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
That was Mercs. Similar universe, perhaps, even though I'm having some difficulty squaring the cutesy graphics of the original arcade release with Commando/Mercs.Originally Posted by rbudrick
