I have Mighty Bomb Jack for the NES and I can't figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do...
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
Here's the manual for the 7800 version of Karateka (click on scan or html manual):

It's a real clunker, my guess is that you've probably played it the right way but it still stunk up the joint. Someday do yourself a favor and play the superior versions on the Apple II or Atari 8bit computers, they both have keyboard controls which works much better for this game.

This is the same problem I've been running in to for years now and I am sure not just atari gamers are running in to it either. I would kill to get some horrificly hard to find manuals for 2 of my SMS titles.
I would like to do a CD of nothing but manuals, text files or scans anything can help. If you don't think this is stupid, PM me and maybe we might have something here.

NES World seems to be the best place for online NES manuals. Here's Mighty Bomb Jack:

Anyone know if tsr's NES Archive will ever come back? If the site is truly gone, have any of the scans or dox been saved?

I just found what might be a god send to some of you. A free site with plunty of manuals for various systems. There in text file and there is certainly a lot of them including one I could not find on the atari age site
www.io.com/~vga2000/index.htm
I for one have already contacted who ever runs this site to see what I could add out of my own collection.
Here's an interesting story.
I had bought Q*bert for the 2600 a couple of years ago, and while playing it, I realized that I was, like, sucking BIG TIME! I just couldn't get that little bastard to jump where I wanted him to. Then it hit me, when I was a kid, I remember that there was a different way to hold the controller. So I looked it up IN THE MANUAL and, ta-da!!! Ya' hold it like a diamond.
Okay, I lied. It wasn't a very interesting story.
you can acctually change the settings so that you press up and left to go
well
up and left
i think you press b or something
i don't know i don't have the manual
