    Default Dreamcast EVIL TWIN

After years of resisting the temptation, I finally gave in to the Dreamcast when I bought a pile of games fairly cheap. The $15 console at EBgames soon followed.

I have the UK-only HEADHUNTER, and I have found it to be a great game. I'm wondering... how is EVIL TWIN for the Dreamcast? I can't find any reviews on it. Is it worth buying? It too was only released in the UK. I think I heard something of a PS2 port, but I don't have a PS2.

On another note, I first played the hell out of Soul Calibur, then played some Crazy Taxi 2 and then some Wild Metal (crap IMHO.) I tried Quake III, then found I liked Unreal Tournament much better and have played the hell out of that. Then I tried out Wetrix+ (an upgrade of one of my favorite N64 games) and got sucked in all over again. Most of the DC shooters are great... if they weren't so short! This thing is awesome. I think I'm going to pull the internals out of the case and paint the case bright yellow. I'll post a pic when I'm done.

I read it was the last DC game released (in the UK, anyhow). Don't know much else 'cuz I don't have a copy or the right type of DC to play it on.

It's ok. Nothing staggering. There's some very nice level and character design though. It's indeed a bit like rayman, but different . I personally rate Rayman higher.

It was released for the ps2 as well (at least here in Europe). If the ps2 version got a release in the USA too, you could better try that. It's most likely cheaper.

Can someone point me to the shop selling NTSC Evil Twin for PS2? I see box scans but I can't find a shop selling it and I've wanted this game since it came out.

I went to UbiSoft, DMA, and Rockstar and can't find it anywhere.

I find articles that say it came out in 2001, but I have yet to run across it anywhere I go.

Half.com only has the PAL version pictured... it seems that this game is PAL only. I wonder how often THAT happens?

    Once in a blue moon.

Oh well, I feel bad enough for Europe anyway -- as badly as WE get shafted on all the great stuff made in Japan that never comes out over here, THEY get it ten times worse!

yeah, there were 55 us dreamcast games we didn't get but only 24 dc games you didn't get of which most are soccer and racing games

we didn't even get Chrono Trigger back in the days or Super Mario RPG

Evil Twin was released in whole Europe, not just the UK, and i recently read somewhere that it is in fact NOT the last game, at least not alone

Hey, Tiny Toon Buster's Bad Dream for GBA is PAL exclusive.
    We should be thankful.

Do you mean UK-exclusive? Portable systems don't have the PAL or NTSC designations... they all use the same type of screen.

I love Tiny Toon games, by the way... I may have to look into this one.

What notable games came out in the US for the Dremcast? Were there a lot of sports titles or were there a few actually good games?

some of the good us-only releases or just ones everyone would have loved to see in europe:

    Alien Front Online
    Armada
    Atari Anniversary Edition
    Bomberman Online
    D2
    E.G.G.
Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves
    Giga Wing 2
    Gundam Side Story 0079
    Illbleed
    Industrial Spy
    KoF Dream Match 99
    KoF Evolution
Last Blade 2 (aaaah, all this fighting glory not in europe )
    Mars Matrix (2nd shmup already)
    Max Steel
Midway Arcade Greatest Hits 2 (part 1 is also very rare in europe)
    Ms. Pac-Man
    Namco Museum
    Ooga Booga
    Prince of Persia
    Q-Bert
    Ring
    Seaman
    Sega Smash Pack
    Seventh Cross
    Typing of the Dead
    Virtual On

i'd say that's quite a lot we missed, that's why i'm going for all us-only releases after i complete my PAL one (already got some through Secret Santa, thx again)

Most systems have a handful of stuff that gets a PAL release, but not US, but it's nothing compared to what we don't get to see over here.

Here's a few PAL gems that didn't make it to the US:

    Megadrive
    Alien Soldier
    Bodycount
Dragonball Z: L'Appel du Destin [France only]
    ISS Deluxe
    Megaman: The Wily Wars
    Monster Lair
    Super Fantasy Zone
    Zero Wing

    32X
    DarXide

    SNES
    Terranigma

    Dreamcast
    Rez
    Shenmue II

dAMN... THAT does SUCK. I had no idea that Europe got shafted like that. I was feeling all envious about games like Headhunter, Rez, Evil Twin, Shenume II... plus Mega Man and Alien Soldier for the MegaDrive, DarXide for the 32x, etc.

No Fatal Fury or KoF or Last Blade? No Giga Wing 2 or Mars Matrix? No D2 or Virtua On? No SEAMAN?!? That sucks!

Well, at least you got a lot of cool Master System games we never got... the European SMS must be 4 or 5 times as large as the U.S. one.

And don't get PAL gamers started on Nintendo - the first Final Fantasy to be released over here was VII - none of the NES/SNES ones were. No Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire, Mario RPG etc etc etc
And no Virtual Boy either [though some may say that's not a bad thing ]

There were a total of 283 Euro SMS games, which is just under 3 times the US library. [/pedant]

Oh, hang on - we got the Amstrad GX4000 aswell That really makes up for it all [/sarcasm]

Europe also has some computer games that never got released in the States, or it took a year for them to come over here. Lot of computer developers over there in Germany, England, France, and Italy.

Why do you think I said I feel bad for Europe getting shafted like that?
