Default Anyone in the USA get their RETRO GAMER yet?

It's been awhile since I got the last issue with Donkey Kong on the cover (I think)

Has anyone in the States gotten the newest issue in the mail?

Issue 44 has Doom on the cover, and based on the Retro Gamer Magazine site, I'd expect issues to show up in the US within the next week or so. We're in the middle of holiday season, so the USPS may be a bit slower with periodicals.

    Strange.
I got the Doom issue a couple weeks ago. I usually get mine via mail near the end of the month.

This is off topic, but directed at those who have a subscription to Retro Gamer, and live in the US. I want to get a subscription myself, and I don’t know quite how to go about it. I found it on Amazon, but the subscription price is around $189 for 13 issues. Does anyone know of a cheaper route than this? I can buy them individually at my local Barnes & Noble for around $12 a issue. Which actually saves me money.

If you go to the Retro Gamer website, you can get a subscription for £80 for 13 issues. That's US$162 going by today's exchange rate. The difference between the Worldwide and UK subscription rates works out at about £2.65 per issue, which is pretty reasonable for shipping.

That's sweet that Retro Gamer has taken the time talking to the SSM boys! I had the honor to interview former SSM editor Rich Leadbetter and writer Gary Cutlack 3 years ago now. My interview with them can be read over at my website:

I also would rather subscribe to Retrogamer, but it ends up cheaper to just buy each issue from Barnes & Noble. Luckily, one was just built right down the road from where I work

We just got Issue 44 (DOOM cover) on the newsstands up here. I usually see the "newest" issue in the first week of the month.

It'd help if you guys told us your locations, maybe it's regional or something.

I havent seen a newsstand/bookstore Retro Gamer mag in weeks here in Mpls/St Paul, I check Barnes & Noble & Borders. It's scaring me.

I asked for a subs. for Xmas, & asked Wifey to track down a current issue if she could...just so something's there when I open the gift.

Just to let you know issue #46 turned up here today, but won't be on general sale in the UK until start of January. Which means the US should get it some time in February. Looking good... my Vic-20 piece and a lot of pages with interviews with 2600 programmers...

Uhhh...we KNOW you get them in the UK...

EDIT: Just got back from a quick shopping run, my wife still had to find an issue. She ran in Borders & Barnes/Noble, B&N said they havent carried it for several months, it's a low seller (???) & expensive to carry. So I guess that's that.

    (fingers crossed for a subs.)

A local bookstore quit carrying it.
About 2 months ago, they received 2 issues each month, and sold quickly, but no more would be ordered.
Now it will not be ordered anymore.
