Is it me, or are these prices a bit cheap?
    Radiant Silvergun for 56 GBP -- that's like $80.

Usually their prices are quite high....cheapest one I see there is £114.89 and that's not cheap at all. Where did you see that £56 one?

They're site is very hard to navigate. Is the price the # at the bottom that says ex. VAT / inc VAT?
That's the only number I can make out of the whole thing.

Just search for RS under the Saturn section on the side. You should get 3 hits.

Yeah...VAT is a tax that only applies sometimes. I don't understand WHEN it applies tho. The three prices I found for RS (excluding VAT) on that site are:

    £114.89 (no spine, scuffed) = $210.64 US

    £126.81 (w/spine, scuffed) = $232.50 US

    £132.77 (w/spine, lightly scuffed) = $243.43 US

No matter how you slice it, those are the NON-taxed prices before shipping...OW OW OW OW OW! Highway robbery!

That's crazy. I've never seen this before. I'm browsing in Konqueror on my Linux box. I jumped over to the Windows PC, and low-and-behold, the real prices!

I'm not shitting you, I see an RS for 14.89 GBP before VAT. Load it up in Mozilla, and it's a lot more. Glad I checked before buying that shit, b/c the checkout had them listed the same. I'm sure it's got something to do w/ my dodgy browsers encoding.

too bad you can't snag it for 14 GBP real quick as a glitch! The real prices are WAY above what it's worth....

Yeah, there prices are pretty much over what you would pay other places - not to mention that the pound is just ridiculous compared to the dollar right now. It's almost double from what I've seen on Ebay. Good time to be a Brit.

Yeah.....every once in a while someone brings up these people's site...and I always warn them away. Not because the site is bad or scammers..but the prices are WAY above what they should be. Just absolutely ridiculous, especially on premium items. I've had a number of people in Europe defending them to me as the cheapest place around...and to those people I say "Look harder". Seriously..not a place worth doing business at unless you don't care how much you spend...and I think few of us can say THAT!

    Default hmm

Largely true ... but they do occasionally have some good deals. But they tend to get snapped up quickly ... I bought a PAL complete Doom for the 32X for £2.00 from them. Which ain't bad

And the guys there seriously do know their stuff. They're also pretty freindly to boot, all of which probably helps them sell the stuff at the prices they ask for. Which are, as you say, largely insane. However, bear in mind that they are a proper business and therefore pay all the appropriate taxes and duties on the games that they import - which means their prices are bound to be higher than someone who sells games out of their bedroom and gets all their packages shipped over with false value declarations etc.

Pretty much anything is strong against the dollar right now. The yen hit all time highs a month or so ago (good time to earn yen).

I think UK gamers are more likely to pay a premium, b/c they're used to getting fucked on prices their whole lives. If they can't figure out there are cheaper places on line, their tough shit, not mine.

I met a guy in Akihabara at an arcade playing VF4 who, when I asked what I did, "Right now, I just sell games." Hehe. I found amusement in that. Anyway, he said he could sell new games to guys in the UK for 50 - 60 GBP, and usually turned away guys in the US, as they would only pay $5-$10 above JPN retail costs (understandably).

You guys don't know what VAT is? That's sales tax charged when selling things within Britain. If you're outside Britain you don't have to pay it.

    So use the lower figure.

Their stuff is insanely expensive, though there's a certain Saturn title for sale there that I'm interested in buying (one of the really insanely expensive ones, unfortunately, I'd be better off watching Yahoo! Auctions Japan).

I know what VAT is -- just click on the link next to VAT and it explains it.

What title is it that you're thinking of picking up?

Their prices are okay on some things. One time they had a new/sealed Biohazard 2 (Playstation, Japanese obviously) for a decent price (don't remember it though). I know that Comix Zone and The Ooze (Japanese) are rare, but the prices they are selling them for are insane.

I like to look through what this place has in stock on occasion just because they carry some amazingly rare stuff (especially on the Megadrive side). Their prices are indeed ridiculously high, especially for someone in the states like myself. But it's nice to know they're there if I REALLY can't find something and I'm desperate.

Agreed. They DO get some impressive inventory. They have the one MD game I'm still dying for, Slap Fight, but I think it's like 200 GBP! GAH!
