Default Was Ninja Gaiden for the master system any good?

I was reading a british game mag and they had a Sega Master System retro section and I saw Ninja Gaiden for the SMS. They only had a few pics but from what I saw it looked like the NES version except with better graphics. Could anyone tell me more about it?

    Very different game.

What's weirder is that the Game Gear version is an EVEN MORE DIFFERENT game.

You can very easily download the ROM and find out.

I played and beat the game about a year ago. It's a fun game, but not as good as the NES ones. The graphics are better, the music is'nt quite as good, it's just as hard as the first NES game, and it's missing the solid story and cut scenes that were ground breaking for the NES.

Worth playing. And if you're a big Ninja Gaiden fan, worth buying.

They made a version of Ninja Gaiden for the Game Gear?

I know they ported NG3 to the Game Gear (which I never played either) but I never knew that.

NG3's on the GG? I know it's on the Lynx (as well?)

I imported it right after I got a Master System late last year. I think it's a very good game; it's not as good as NG 1 & 2 for the NES, but I like it better than NG 3. It does play differently, and it has a terrible story, but it's a very solid game; if you can find it cheap on eBay, go for it.

Is NG for the Game Gear a port of the arcade game? Or am I thinking of the Lynx port of the arcade game? I'm drawing a blank as to what the GG version is like. I've never played it, but I've read about it.

The arcade port and NG3 port are for the lynx. The Game Gear Ninja Gaiden plays like the NES ones, but the story is very weak, it's not terribly hard, and the gameplay to me wasnt all that crisp. Graphics were decent though.
