The Worst of Super Nintendo (SNES)

Hmm, from my collection, i probably have only three or four complaints:
1. Stunt Race FX - last time i played this, it was so laggy and had such shitty control response that it was not playable
2: The Jungle Book - ugly sprites, horrible controls
3. NBA Live 97 - eh, not a big basketball fan, and its EA

So many games I had fond memories growing up but now realize how terrible they are..

Home Alone, although the voice samples can't be beat
Stunt Race FX .. Yeah I was sucked in by the hype, too
Batman Forever always sucked, though. The genesis version had awesome gfx and samples but the game just sucked.

I was never a fan of Mortal Kombat, though, specifically because there is no blood code for the SNES version, wtf you pansies.

Lately I've picked up a few clunkers. They're not the worst either but definitely pretty hard to play.

Hyperzone - a pretty bad shooter with no variety.
Hal's Hole in One Golf - a very clunky golf game that is pretty hard to play due to so may limitations in options.

There are surely worse, but Secret of the Stars is the worst RPG I've seen on it.

Jesus Christ you'd better watch out for Badbad. He's hardcore.

Mario's Time Macine, Mario Is Missing, Mario Preeschool Fun, Mario Fun With Numbers, and Mario Fun With Letters. I don't know, when I was a kid I would have still rather played Super Mario World. I am glad I did not have to sit through those boring games as some of my friends did.

Bart's Nightmare - rented it once and I could not figure out wtf to do ruined my weekend
Batman Forever- Another game that confused me when I was younger and was a poor rental choice
Barbie Super Model- My sister got this and it was just a chaotic mess to watch with god awful infectious be-bop for a soundtrack
American Gladiators- Yuck just yuck
Dragon's Lair- Never liked this one as it was just boring

I don't know. I'd probably say the worst RPG is Brandish.

It's an Action RPG, actually. But anyway, this game you either hate or love, it seems. I enjoyed playing through it tremendously. Read my Brandish review on my website if you wanna know more about that.

Another of those "hate or love it" games would probably be love quest. Did anybody ever play love quest? It's a SFC exclusive RPG. Instead of fighting the normal standard villains you battle women. Once their HP drop to zero you've won their hearts, gain exp, level up etc.... ^__^; It's so crappy, I adore it until today... quiet a rare game, if I'm not mistaken...

Final Fantasy 2 and 3, Chrono Trigger, any Donkey Kong Country or street fighter port.

Chrono Trigger is just really overrated IMO.

As for the worst, hands down gotta go with Ultraman, Shaq-Fu, and Mario: Fun with Numbers.

I actually got suckered into buying the last one for $12 because I thought it was rare. Turns out the guy I bought it off of was one of those overpriced game sellers who's there every week with like two tons of SNES games selling them at eBay prices. Super Mario RPG $60? GTFO of the flea market.

I loved Pit Fighter in the arcades. Never played the SNES version, but I doubt I ever will having heard this.

Worst I've played or seen played were Space Ace and Batman Forever. I don't even want to try and remember these garbage games.

So much arguing over the different Mario Kart games, sigh....the SNES original doesn't hold up well as being worthwhile against its successors, but that doesn't mean it belongs in a 'worst of SNES' thread....

Just to throw in though, I get my MK fix from the DS version. The controls handle well, there are a bunch of new tracks AND a 'retro circuit' with prior games' tracks remade, I'm pretty sure no other game had the amusing Blooper weapon, very decent graphics, multiple karts to choose for each character, you can easily unlock Dry Bones as a playable character, and with some effort I know there are a bunch of other extras...all this, and it supports up to EIGHT players! Hell yeah! There's even a 'download play' mode (non-DS owners, yes, the 'everyone needs a copy' problem from old linkable portable games has been fixed) that limits the available tracks and forces people without the cart to play as a Shyguy, but still good fun!

Besides, you can play it outside....or a diner....or if you show up too early for a movie and have to sit through the commercials-and-BS 'MovieWatcher Network' crap before the trailers...or waiting on the endless registration line at Otakon (okay, falls under outside)...blah blah blah blah.....

TL;DR- Mario Kart DS is pure win

Bebes Kids and Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat in my opinion, is the only game that is a failure without blood or graphics

Mention must go to street combat. Not only is the Ranma 1/2 game it's based off of already a pretty poor street fighter clone, the over-americanization of all the characters and stripping the playable cast down to two makes a previously passable game awful.
