Grand Theft Auto... a dead end?

Will R* be able to milk the GTA franchise like Nintendo has done with oh... say... Mario?

The short answer is NO!

GTA Golf, probably not, GTA 2525, maybe, could be interesting to jack spaceships and play in a future GTA setting but the whole crime thing is just about played out so where does is go from there?

You could say the same thing about the whole "run, jump, collect coins thing", and how it's "played out" as well. Either way, I immensely enjoy Vice City, and am looking forward to San Andreas.

I think we'd all be happier if we stop trying to forsee the death of video games, which some people seem to be obsessed with.

games do get old and Grand Theft Auto will eventually. I don't know if it will happen in the next game or when they decide to do Grand Theft Auto Golf?
