Default I'll trade video game stuff, for old Star Wars figures

Hi, I have recently gone into the realm of "ULTRA NERD".

Yep, I'm actually collecting freaking action figures. I never thought that I would get into something like that. Whenever I thought about grown adults messing around with action figures, I thought that they must be the most childish and nerdy people on the planet.

But now that I'm one of them, I guess I shouldn't think that anymore.

What happened is that I got the old movies on DVD recently, and my 4 and a half year old son really loves the first Star Wars movie. He wants to watch it over and over and over.

After seeing him get really into the old Star Wars movie, I remember that I had a number of Star Wars toys when I was a little kid. I was 6 or 7 years old when the first movie came out.

I knew that my old toys were probably somewhere in my Moms house, even to this day. So I went to my Moms and searched everywhere and I found some of my guys, and some of the ships and stuff.

But I'm missing alot of the little figures, and some of the ships and some parts and stuff.

My son absolutely loves playing with these old Star Wars guys, he has no idea that they are almost 30 freaking years old!!!!

He just loves to play with them and watch the movie. I also enjoy playing with the little guys with him, because if I'm going to have to play with him anyways, I might as well be playing with the Star Wars guys rather than some Power Rangers or something like that.

So I'm looking to find the old action figures from 1977 to like 1985. They can be loose characters, and they don't need to be perfect. But I also don't want any that are totally thrashed, or missing heads or whatever.

I've looked on Ebay for this stuff, but the prices can get really outrageous. I assume that most of the people on there are collectors, and they aren't looking for these guys to play with their kids. I'm just trying to get the guys to play with my son.

I have a number of old video games and stuff like that, that I would be willing to trade for old Star Wars toys. So if you have any old Star Wars toys that are extra's, or stuff that you are willing to part with, then send me a PM. I might have some video game items that you would want in a trade.

Good luck, man. Even the loose ones seem to go for $5 and up around here.

One thing you might consider is buying the new versions of the figures. All the old characters have been rereleased in the newer style, and those figures can be picked up a bit more inexpensively, especially loose.

Best of luck -- my "almost 3-year-old" son loves Star Wars as well, and seems to like the classic ones better than the new ones!

Well, I've noticed on Ebay, that loose ones that are in supposedly great condition, typically go for around $4 or $5 or $6 or so each, unless they are more rare. But those are ones that are supposed to be in pretty damn good condition.

I don't necessarily need them to be in great condition. My kid is going to be playing with them, and they won't stay in great condition for long, anyways. So I'm looking for figures that are still in playable condition, not missing limbs, heads, etc, but maybe not quite in collectors condiition, where I can get them for a decent price.

As for buying the "newer" versions of the classic figures, well, my Mom recently got my son a few of those, but I don't like them at all. She got him this Han Solo, and he looks much more like the real Han Solo, but he doesn't stand up. She also got him some Robot from Episode 1 or 2, that also doesn't stand up. And she got him Obi Wan from Episode 1 or 2. He can stand up somewhat. I just don't like the new ones. If I could find a lot of them for pretty damn cheap, I might buy some, but I definitely prefer the original old school figures.

I recently won an auction on Ebay for loose Star Wars guys, and I think Han Solo was one of them. I think it was the Empire Strikes Back version of Han Solo. So I might actually have the same guy, once I get them shipped to me.

But it's possible that this is a different Han Solo. If I don't have this one, I would be interested, but I don't think you can get more than say $5 for a loose Han Solo of any type. They are pretty common.

If you want to send me a pic of it, email me at melanth@peoplepc.com

You know, if you decided to get into collecting these things, you could do pretty well, living in the U.K. Tons of Star Wars guys are on Ebay from the U.K., but alot of times they don't get bidded on, because of the shipping from the U.K. factor.

I've actually just come into an older "Vader Head" full of figures. Not the newer ones, either, the head case is dusty as hell and there's a few figures with little cloth capes and whatnot. unfortunetly, I have no clue on the exact year on these, although I would assume these are quite probably originals, i'm not seeing any years or anything stamped on them though. I also have no idea what they are really worth. I'd almost feel bad getting rid of them, but I think the story on these was my grandma bought them at a garage sale and kept them in a toybox for years, so other than me having played with them slightly in my youth they don't have any REAL nostalgia or inheritance factor. She just gave them to me when I went and took back my power ranger robots last week.

Anyway, if you wanna talk business throw me a PM, but I am fairly reluctant to get rid of them so it might take something decent, heh. But I am definetely more of a game guy than an oldass star wars fig guy.

I have Boba Fett and Vader, I don't think I have Luke in the pilot costume, but I think shipping from the U.K. wouldn't be worth it for me. It would cost too much to ship to make it worth it.

I have about 100+ figures(loose) from the mid 90's, and a bunch of weapons if your interested.
The Monarch: Hey, guess what? Nobody cares who would win in a crazy fantasy fist-fight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden. We never should have brought the henchmen. We're going to be the only ones there with henchmen!

I have a bunch of figures. some i would be looking to get a profit from, but I will list what I have, and we can go from there if you are interested. I have these figures and have been wanting to get rid of them as long as it would benefit me.

Darth Vader Head case with sealed figure
collapable speeder bike complete with box
(this is my only old starwars stuff)

sealed darth vader from late 90's
    sealed lando from late 90's
sealed laia in bikini outfit when she was working for jaba from late 90's
resealed stormtrooper (don't ask why it is resealed, I was dumb)

the rest are complete unless otherwise noted, and the figures have been taken off their cards

darth vader vs. xizor (vader missing light saber, no comic)

boba fett vs. ig-88 (no comic)

    Dash Rendar (only the figure)

Luke SkyWalker in Imperial Guard Disguise

Lando in Imperial Guard Disguie (custom figure i did. basically, lando was in the story as being in the disguise with luke, but no figure was made, i switched the heads, which means that you can't put the helmet on lando unless you want his head to pop off, it may be different now putting the helmet on, but i wouldn't recommend it)

    Bounty Hunter Chewbacca

    Princess Leia In Boushh Desguise

    swoop bike with swooptrooper

micro machines shadows of the empire series 1.
(this is back when mighty max and poly pocket were the rave with kids. this is like that, except there is no base, it is just a bunch of star wars shadows of the empire guys)

micro machines walker thing with storm trooper (the 2-legged walker things)

the shadows of the empire items i want to get rid of altogether, so I do not want to split them up, as I have all the characters plus a custom character.

the sealed ones and the resealed figure i would be happy to split up

I have an original 1977 12 back Darth Vader Sealed MOC , I would be interesting in trading for newer games for Xbox Or ps2, but ill take a look at any trade list you might have, Value of this figure usually goes up to about 200.00 $ the last time I checked ebay which was a while back.

    Thanks

I will post a picture later tonight. I don't know all of there names... i do know however that i have an original jabba the hut and his little sidekick guy.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I really appreciate it.

Today I recieved a box of figures that I got off Ebay. 25 figures. Unfortunately, alot of them have super loose arms and legs. And some of them have some other problems to them, but some of them are in good condition.

Anyways, I've responded to a bunch of PM's, so hopefully, I will be able to do some trades.

Thanks again for all the help on this.
