Every thanksgiving my extended family meet at my father's farm house, a house located in the middle of a field in north florida. While there, we do the usual family/ Thanksgiving stuff. My dad also enjoys deer hunting as do many of my relatives.
Well, it was raining Thursday evening so my dad went into his closet to get hats for everyone. I wasn't going hunting, but my cousin walked out of the bedroom with something VERY awesome on his head...
... my NINTENDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 1990 hat that I won when I was 11 years old!!
The badge is totally intact and the hat is in perfect shape. I nearly flipped out. I didn't win one of the cartridges, but I won this hat somehow and have been looking for it for 15 years. Turn out my dad snarfed it for his hunting closet years ago! So happy to have found it. I don't collect NES, but this is probably the oldest gaming memento I have kept around. I kind of want a NWC cart to go with it though!
Just had to share the story with you guys - thought you might appreciate it. Won it at the Tampa tour stop, BTW. Got a free game boy for placing fifth (still have the Game Boy).
... and on the way home on Friday, I scored a CIB *MINT!!* Fire N Ice for NES for $10. That too. :P
