Firstly.. only the older Ngage model has a mp3 player... so ull have to think wisely.. IMO get the old one, or get both!
emulation side, ur best checkin out http://www.zophar.net/consoles/ngage.html

i heard that out of the box it doesnt play mp3's, but a third party program can be used to play them. or am i wrong?
Guess I'm not the only one recently dabbling in the world of N-Gage.
I have to tell you, I really LIKE it. It's no Nintendo DS, but it plays PlayStation (1) quality games, stores movies, MP3's and does some decent emulation. I got the older model from a friend and am digging it.
That said, these sites were pretty helpful (the last two for N-Gage beyond just emulation):

You are right in what you say, but if you wanna have Mono Quality sound with no proper headphone support then the QD is for youOriginally Posted by unbroken
Trust me, im the N-Gage God here at DP, i got one on release for Xmas and havent regretted it!
Im glad you say that, the Ngage has had feedback it doesnt deserve from the day it was mentioned, espeically by Trolls who have never touched the thing!Originally Posted by digitalpress
Fair enough the games for it may not be up to scratch with GBA etc, but with a Phone, Mp3 Player, Emulation of 7+ Systems, Web Browser, Video Player & Radio it is really something! ahead of its time if you ask me!
Also the new game Pocket Kingdom i highly recommend for RPG lovers!

I should say here that my position - which I've held both before and after playing with one - is that I'm less disappointed with the design of the unit itself than I am with Nokia's marketing. The N-Gage is just trying to be too many things at once, and is throwing millions into a black hole. I'm not saying nobody should compete with Nintendo, but you don't do that by just throwing a bunch of big name games onto a cell phone and adding in a bunch of other crap that does nothing but add to the cost of the unit. If they marketed this as a "The Cell Phone for Gamers," it might work. And I guess sometimes they do. But trying to convince us that this is a portable videogame system, in the same way that the Game Boy is, is retarded.Originally Posted by cauterize

Plus, the screen is crap. I can't even see the goddam course in that Crash Bandicoot racing game, and the awkward closeup view in Sonic Advance is even worse when you can't see half the screen.
Plus you throw in the fact Nokia publicly called the Game Boy user base more or less "immature babies" mere weeks before their launch, and you can kind of see why it wasn't exactly recieved with open arms.
Here's a good one:

You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
