He bid twice, lol.
Well, palet_th doesn't usually overprice stuff wildly. Did see joeyslinux bidding on something else in the Saturn area just before this game, I think.
Interesting...and I thought I've played damn near all the saturn shooters. Although I'm guessing that this is a shooter, so I dunno...never heard of it.
Yeah, that is a pretty much the going price for Stellar Assault SS. Although, frankly, if you get the 32X version you are playing pretty much the same game for a fraction of the price. The Saturn version is a bit souped up - but not a huge amount different. In fact, there is some debate as to which is actually the better version.
Although, for pure comedy purposes there has to be little to compete with this in terms of the 'Engrish' in the manual!
There are plenty of Saturn imports that can quite happily command a $114 BIN without being Radiant Silvergun (and frankly, you'd be lucky to get R.S. for that much now ...) Here's another :

This game was released by Sims in 1998. The original 32x game (Shadow Squadron) was released in both the U.K. and Japan as Stellar Assault but is otherwise identical to the American version.
The 32x game was developed by the tiny Tokyo-based studio Sims and released by Sega. Sims went to work on what I think is an excellent sequel for the Saturn that no one would publish due to the first game’s low profile. Sims published the game on their own with a very low production run, resulting in one of the Saturn’s rarest games. As of this writing, Sims has self-published three titles and has developed a total of nine games, the best known being Charge N’ Blast for the Dreamcast.
That's not a bad price for that game. It's supposedly very rare, but has a very low profile for a game that can be played easily by non-Japanese speakers.
Cheers
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
... Just noticed, you can see the fine 'Engrish' in the pics. Quoted here for posterity! :
"Stellar Assault. The furious cosmos! Final battle have just started now! Why they come to attack us biyearly? Where are they from? And who are they?"
Classic ....

Sweet! I need to check this one out.Originally Posted by Vroomfunkel

yep!
it usually goes for 12000-14000 yen in mint on Yahoo Japan.
I managed to snap mint one for bit over 10000 yen few months back though.
this, HyperDuel, FFR, Tahomaru and RDS are the ones still commanding over 10000 yen mark in Japan - tahomaru and FFR are more like 20000-30000 range though.
FFR = Final Fight Revenge? *gasp*
I've been waiting to see Stellar Assault drop below $100 for a while now. Doesn't look like it's about to happen.
BTW I wouldn't classify it as a shooter, at least not like Batsugun or Don Pachi. It's basically Ace Combat in outer space.
Stellar Assault SS is far more expensive than PSG. Still it's cheaper than FFR or Tahomaru... Astra Superstar is another expensive title although not as expensive as SASS...
DJ, surely you would know, how rare is a factory sealed Hyper Duel, and is $300 too much for one, or is it a bargain? I'm making payments on one now!
