    Default Japanese Dreamcast Questions

If this topic has been done before I'm sorry but I couldn't find anything.

I found this at Value Village its a Dreamcast model No. HKT-3000

First question Can I safely plug this into a North American power outlet. It says AC 100v underneath and we use 110v I don't want to fry it.

    Here are some pics

Now the next question is underneath scribed in the plastic is 100005240
    UBISOFT
    TEST

now I don't know why anyone would do this on purpose unless it is really from Ubisoft. It is possible due to the fact that Ubisoft is in Montreal. What I would like to know, is there a way to authenticate this. Pleas help. Her's a pic

    Any help would be great

If you dont dare to try the orginal AC adapter you could always use an universal AC adapter. Just make sure the pole is set right and that its the correct voltage.

the AC is built in, it just uses a standard cable to plug in the wall like the original playstation. That's why I don't want to try it until I'm sure.

So you can only plug it straight into the wall? Not possible to remove the powercord?

I can remove the power cord, It doesn't require a big block adapter like the NES or SNES.

You should also keep an eye on that VV, just in case that was left by UBISOFT.. there may be some more treats that are in the back...
