    Default Screw job @ TRU!!!!!

If you read the finds you saw that I got a Um Jammer Lammy at TRU this week. Anyway, the game wasnt wrapped but I didnt mind since the title sticker tag at the top looked like it hadn't been touched. I cut the tape holding the case together to find............

    NO DISC!!!

Some moron must have opened it up and taken the disc out. Returning it is out of the question as they will probably not believe me and say that I took it out.

DAMN IT... IM PISSED!!! Im searching EBAY for a disc and I cant find any.....

Man this sucks! I dont know what to do!!

Well, I'd try and return it first. If the people there are actually understanding, and have what I call a heart, they might do it.

Just take a good ol quick drive out and check it out.

It happens. Trust me, I work there. There's not a lot we can do, obviously. If you had just bought it, walked out, and then walked back in with it, maybe we could go for it. Now, unfortunately, you're pretty much out of luck. Let's face it, letting something like this go isn't the best thing for buisness.

The lesson of the day is to inspect games that aren't factory sealed before purchasing them. Good luck with getting your money back.

It was in one of those plastic container things that TRU puts their games in so I couldnt tell if it was lighter or not. I should have opened it as I was walking out the door.

Same thing happened to me at Sam Goody once (don't ask me why I bought music there anyway, only happened once). I actually got a CD for Christmas that was purchased well before the 25th. I just took it back and my mom was with me and they didn't give me any shit about it. I'd try to return it, it's not like one defective (/nonexistant) ps1 game is gonna break 'em.

Man that really sucks...sorry about that. Guess it's a hard lesson to check suspicious stuff next time. Even still, you have a case so I'm sure a loose disc will probably pop up on ebay in some matter of time.

This summer I bought a new sealed copy of the Van's Warped Tour 2004 from Best Buy and both CD's were missing! It was only $5 but I thought for sure I wasn't going to get a replacement. I was given absolutely no haggle about it after talking to the manager over the phone. The lady that did the exchange said she's seen it happen before. So try your luck but make sure you contact them as soon as possible. The longer you wait the less likely they'll believe your story.

Return it. People pull that shit all the time. I once returned a DC game that was still sealed at TRU and they opened it to make sure the disk was still in there. I'm sure you won't be the first one and hopefully they'll understand.

its easy to see if somones tryna pull a fast one, if you have more disks than stock says, then they are probably telling the truth.

I don't even see why this is a question. If there's no disc, go back to the store, explain what happened, and be polite. If that doesn't work, THEN it's something to worry about.

I concur. Go back and explain what happened. You have the truth on your side, and people can usually tell when you are being honest compared to someone who is trying to pull a scam.

And if you stick to your guns you'll probably get your money back. In a slightly different situation, I bought a pizza from a local takeaway once that gave me food poisoning, and I was violently ill all night. I went back the next day and explained that I was not happy with having paid good money for bad food .. they were pretty uptight about it, but they gave me my money back in the end.

Chances are a shoplifter nabbed the disc. There's no inventory check to do.

Yeah, you can try and go back in, just don't want to get your hopes up. Feel sorry for you and I can only hope you've got an easy store.

i think a large chain like that would give you the benefit of the doubt, hell if they doubt you they would still probably give it to you. your retrun business is more valuable than the game.

I remember when my dad had purchased some software from Sam's Club. They had forgot to put the software in the box, so he paid $200 for an empty box That night he called them, and he went back the next week and got his money back.

They tried to pawn it off as his fault, however, for not checking to make sure that the software was there.

One time I returned a DC game to TRU, and came home to find out that my roommate's brother had taken it out of the case and left it in the DC. I took it back to the store right away, but I could've gotten away with keeping it.
