Default Welp, got my Target GBA!

I finally got my GBA! I opted for the Target exclusive version, in emergency RED! I needed a game on the spot of course, and they didnt have a hugh lineup, so I chose Zelda. I figured if I were to chose only one game, better make it one that I will be playing for awhile. Phantasy Star Collection will probably be next. Or maybe Metroid Fusion. But I also love to play some classics and shooters. What else comes to mind? By the way, I am hearing alot about this e-reader. I see there are some classic NES games on the cards. Is it any good?

castlevania harmony of dissonance and metroid fusion are both great games. the difference between them is that castlevania is a much easier game, imo. fusion is a little shorter, but the boss battles are much tougher.

i recommend playing both of them though, they are the best original games on the system, surrounded by a sea of ports.

as an emu man, you need a flash card

E-readers are just worthless unless if you're into those pokemon cards. Buy the GBA for the GBA games, and not this device. Besides, there's already plenty of old GB games to choose from if you like the old-school 8-bit gaming. I really don't understand why anyone would need this.

As for a must have game for the GBA, I'd get F-Zero Maximum Velocity. I think it's pretty hard to find this new in stores now, but if you see it available, get this game.

I just picked up a GBA the other day. I was never really into the GB or the GBC, but now that I'm playing Metroid Fusion, the Namco collection, Mr. Driller, Chu Chu Rocket, and THPS 4 on it...I like it...I like it a lot.

One good thing about getting a linker besides the emulators is checking out foreign games that will never make it to the U.S.

Hell yeah! I want to join the darkside. Where can I get a GBA flash cart for $119? I'm not keen on ordering from Hong Kong. Any other good emulators for it besides the NES? CV? I thought maybe that red Target design GBA was just for the print ads and wasn't something you could buy. I looked at that ad and it showed it but it said nothing about it being a special Target edition that you could actually buy. It seems like they could come up with something cooler for a special edition. Did those Pokemon and Tommy Hilfiger edition GBC's ever get to be worth a lot? BTW, has anyone here tried out that cool mod-circuit you can buy that will output the GBA video to a TV ala the Nomad?

Why do they always only sell these special colors/clear shells in Japan? WTF is Nintendo's problem? These Japanese companies only care about Japan.

I got mine from David at http://www.dcslinks.com. It's in Hong Kong, and it got to me in 5 days. **Highly Recommended***

I've heard that someone is making a flash reader that will work with Smartmedia. These are going to be much cheaper, but I have yet to hear about their quality.

    Default The linker...

I joined the Darkside I just had to. You can get it at:

    http://www.success-hk.com

They just got an order of the new Extreme cards that also connect to USB. They also sell that tv-out gadget you were talking about. That may be my next step...if not a backlight.

    Heh.

Belmont's Revenge beats HoD hands down. All said, the GBA doesn't have a strong enough sound chip to handle high quality music. I'd get Operation C, personally. Oh, yeah, that reminds me...Contra Advance, you might like that, though it's got Hard Corps levels tagged as "specially designed for the GBA."
