Ah, the genius of politicians. What this guy fails to realize (or didn't want to mention for fear of looking stupid) is that you can play either a cop or drug dealer (player's choice), multiple games featured human hostages/shields, and GTA lets you do far worse. He also probably didn't epect the game to jump over 400% in Amazon in Amazon's movers and shakers (as found by a cheapassgamer member) after his statement. Yes Schumer, you just made every kid in America want it even more, not the game maker like you seem to think. Brilliant.

see the GTA segment on 60 minutes the other night? they make it look like the gameplay is ONLY about killing cops. the dude playing it sucked ass too, he was shooting walls and shit half of the footage.

kind of odd, the real life killer who's getting "inspired" by this was a black teenager, yet there was only one small clip of san andres. mostly just vice city.

by the way, would anyone mind if i dedicated an ape-shit rant thread every once in a while? i don't want to tarnish the reputation of the forumers who are not as violent as myself when it comes to responses to such bullshit. i've been pretty quiet on my own end, posting, as to not bring about any undesireable attention.

while you CAN play as a cop in 25 to life, i'd lay any amount of money on there being a certain imbalance leaning towards players as thugs to players as cops online once the game is released (what's more "fun" to the kids?). i'd imagine that the gimmick in the game where cops can use certain powerful weapons the thugs can't is more than likely going to be exploited through some sort of cheat eventually...

also, as the game does double duty as a MOAG (multiplayer online action game) it does annoying glorify gang life moreso than gta, which at least has had a storyline and interesting characters in each installment. 25 to life is basically plotless and allows customization of gangs by area code and location, something that's not what certain community leaders want to hear. near where i live, there's a bit of a gang problem that's popped up over the last few months and not so amusingly enough, i can see these folks as the target audience more than the average "joe gamer" looking for some mindless escapism. if it keeps them off the streets and out of my building, it's fine by me.

as hot under the collar as he is now, i can't wait 'til chuck sees the 50-cent game... he's gonna have a triple coronary and a stroke simultaneously.

I am beta testing 25 to Life... It should be coming in the mail next week... I am not really a fan of these types of games, but the article just made me all the more impatient for it to arrive.

Sounds like some naughty fun. But I'm thinking that the time is now ripe for a game developer to pick up the "Bad Lieutenant" license.

It's funny this topic should come up.

Anyone see Nancy Grace last night? Infuriating.

    http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP.../21/ng.01.html

    That's the transcript.

That's my ripping apart the transcript after it was on the site after seeing the show.
