Default To buy a Limited Edition DS, or not to buy one?

I am not a big Pokemon fan, but enjoy the game. I am a big DS collector though, and am debating picking up a LE system from Japan. Now I want both (pink and pokepark) but am probably only going to get the PokePark. Is it worth it? Or do you think they have made a whole bunch of these 'limited editions' and they aren't going to hold there value. Anyone know how many were made?
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

Well, if its limited it will definetly hold its value, I say if you can find one for a decent price then all means pick it up. I imported one of those zelda gba's from europe awhile ago, and that thing held its value well.
Even if I go to hell, I will live to the end of this world. And if the world does not come to an end... I will destroy it with my own hands!

Only *really* limited LEs hold their peak value for any length of time. The Kasumi Blue XB is a recent example. Any LE that's limited in even a broad sense will have some extra value in the future, but you're better of waiting in most cases.

(For real LEs like the D-Direct DC, though...different story)

I've wanted one of these, too - the electric blue one is just plain dumb-looking, but I'm a big enough Pokemon fan to want the Mew one, too.

Please post an update letting us know where you got it, how much it cost, etc. - if you end up buying it and don't mind telling us.
You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?

if it's going to be anything like the pokemon gameboy color it wont hold its value, i saw a stack of 5 pokemon gbcs piled up at a second hand store the other day, lol

almost off topic: would anyone here be interested in a "Aussie GameBoy Color"? it's transparent green and 'gold' two tone with the australian flag and something about aussie, perhapse 'aussie aussie aussie' but i cant be sure, on the front.
i dont have one now, but i can probably get one if one of you international collectors is in the market, i saw one just the other day for sale second hand. finding the box for it is unlikely though.

I would get the Red DS - its looks awesome. In regards to limited edition, I would probably pick it up because it only will be harder to find in the future. Nintendo loves to make limited edition so be wary (its a good thing though, like those summer versions).
