Default PALSuper Famicom, will it work on a US TV?

I have the chance to buy one from somebody, but I have never had a PAL system, and do not know if it will work on a US TV. Also should I buy the PAL super famicom or the japanese fami? and whats a reasonable price for PAL fami? thanks.

It's called SNES btw ;) If you've got a fairly modern TV, it might be able to take the PAL signal, check the manual. Most likely not via RF though, as this requires a PAL TV tuner, and hardly any TV has a dual NTSC/PAL tuner.

You could also try one of those VGA boxes, which usually take both NTSC and PAL, and play the SNES on a VGA monitor.
