    Default 7800 emulators

Look before anyone posts it let me just say this.
The 7800 had some really bad games, Hat Trick is without a doubt
one of the worst titles ever. But It also had some of the best
Midnight Mutants is in my opion is one of the best 8-bit games
ever also one of the hardest. Tower Toppler on the 7800
is a far better looking game on the 7800 than the its other
incarnation Castleian on the NES. And F-18 Hornet a psuedo
3-D fight sim had ne equal until Microsoft released Flight Sim.

But for all of the opions on both sides of the issuse whiether the
7800 is a good system. Why hasn't anyone created a better
emulator than 7800_OS? gees... a dos emulator. I have found
many many emulators for many many systems and 8-bit
computers. But only 1 for the 7800...WHY?!

    Is "7800_OS" Dan Boris' emulator?

If not, you need to try it. The most up to date version runs in MESS or MESS32 (Windows), and it plays just about every game perfectly. No go on Winter Games or Summer Games, though.

I think the reason for so few emulation efforts is due to the 7800's relatively small library. It typically goes the more games a system has (globally), the more emulation is done for it.

I don't mind Hat Trick on the 7800, plays a little clunkier than the arcade but it's still a fun 2 player game. I been playing both versions just this week

As far as I can see MESS does a good job with Winter Games, I just did some ski jumping, but Summer Games still doesn't work, crashes out to the main menu.

Was it Mess32 you tried? And did you have the OS roms when you tried the emulation?

Sounds like you have the old version of the ROMs with the incorrect headers. Snag the updated versions off my site.
