Default IS Spikeout: Battlestreet - Streets of Rage 4???

This weekend i had the privlege of discovering this game much to my joy (i thought there would never be something like this again)

anyways - i was looking on ebay for it this morning and saw a listing that said Spikeout Battlestreet AKA Streets of Rage 4

and so i was trying to find out if this was true - and i found nothing but reviewers ripping this game apart

SO , is this realy streest of rage 4 and if SO does anyone know why they didnt just call it streets of rage 4? wouldnt that have had a bigger impact?

also, im not asking for what people think about the game just if its realy streets of rage 4

I don't think so. Spikeout was a fun game at the end of the 90's. The xbox version aint bad, but it great either.

Hypothetically, if it was SoR 4 what would that make the first Spikeout game?

It's actually more like Spikeout 4

Spikeout I guess could be thought of as Streets of Rage 4...so you could call Spikeout Battle Street "Streets of Rage 7" or something

Previous Spikeout games were Spikeout, Spikeout Final Edition (a tweaked and upgraded Spikeout, both Model 3 Step 2.1 games), Slash Out (fucking Naomi and it still didn't make it to the Dreamcast...more of an offshoot than a sequel), and Spiker's Battle (more of a fighting game, and despite being a Naomi game never made it to the Dreamcast either )

You know what pisses me off about Spikeout Battle Streets though? The unskippable cinemas and the long ass load times. The punishing single player gameplay wouldn't bother me at all if it weren't for the god damn load times and cinemas that I hate sitting through for the millionth time

    Sega's Die Hard Arcade played a lot like a 3D SOR coin-op.

No. Spikeout is NOT SoR 4, but does take a lot of inspiration from the SoR series.

There is going to b a deluge of similar titles coming out soon too. THey all prettty much look like they were built on the Shenmue engine, as a lot of the fight scenes look like the beat 'em up parts in Shenmue I / II

Definitely not SOR4. Spikeout Battle Street is a huge disappointment anyway.

I didn't think so. Very difficult, yes, but a much better fighting game than a lot of the other beat-em-ups out there.

early in the FF development, Sega was interested into turning it into the next SoR. Deal never went through
