    Default Point-and-click adventure games

Are there any good point and click adventure games that are free to download?
I remember playing alot of this genre in the early 90s, and Ive always wanted to get some less "kiddy" ones to play.
Anyone remember a game where the main character played a system called Nintari?

    Maniac Mansion for the NES.
It's crude but a good point n click
Lemmings as a far shot, multi platformed . That's not as rpg, but fun for a bit for the puzzle minded in short term.
Both can be played through emulators for the PC/Mac. Roms, well just search around, they float from site to site.

    That's Willy Beamish.

I'm moving this out of Buying and Selling and into the Videogame Forum.

I've got fond memories of that game. It was pretty weird, though!

Anyway, you can find completely legal copies of Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen at ScummVM.

The human operates out of complex superiority demands, self -affirming through ritual, insiting upon a rational need to learn, striving for self-imposed goals, manipulating his environment while he denies his own adaptive abilities, never fully satisfied.

You can find a copy of Willy Beamish and other games such as monkey island at CoolRom. They just opened all of their CD files to the public.

Sam and Max Hit the Road is just plain awesome. I don't know if that's freeware yet, but I recommend playing it, even if you have to buy it.

The thread's still young, but I'm still surprised no one mentioned The Longest Journey. It's leaps and bounds above the others in the genre...plus you can get it almost anywhere for 10 bucks.

Try Yahtzee's work post haste. Start with 5 Days a Stranger, then play 7 Days a Skeptic, and then try something a little different with Adventures in the Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment. You'll be glad you did!

I loved the storyline, graphics, and voice acting in The Longest Journey, but I disliked the puzzles . Syberia I and II ($10 a pop on the jewel rack of your local game store) on the other hand were much more enjoyable imo. Short games though, unfortunatly.

Also, if you don't mind Amiga emulation, all of Sierra's Amiga games are available for free (legally!) from Back2Roots. Just shy away from the Roberta Williams stuff and you'll be fine

a bunch of Lucasarts' stuff is still available in their online store last time I checked. Grab some stuff there and then get SCUMMVM (which you should already have since THATinkjar mentioned Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen)
