    Default XBox PSO shafted again!!!

    http://www.teamxbox.com/news.php?id=4068

Even if you don't plan to play online, you are still *required* to have M$ Live. Unh..? How does an online service help play PSO offline??? And yes, Sega is charging $9 a month for PSO so with M$ Live, you're paying even more than GC version! >

Makes me glad I didn't get XBox or wait for XBox PSO in the first place!
Another day, another dollar... wake me when it's payday.
    still playing games

Well, strike that off my list of "must have games". I didn't intend to play online, but if I need an XBox Live account JUST to even play the game forget it.

You could play PSO offline on your Dreamcast without being online, just had to put in the registration number in. What would be so different? Instead of taking the option out (which the article said would have been too difficult) why not put in an additional option that locks it down?

Sheesh...Is that how their business models are going to be for the XBOX MMORPGS??? If thats the case you can forget about me getting every one of them. I do have XBOX Live and I was hoping that was all that would be required. Because I sure as hell am not paying $9 a month for any online games. $50 a year for XBOX live isn't bad because I can play a number of games of the system. But $10 a month for one game? Thats $120 a year I'll be spending on something else.

You can do that with the GameCube, too. I can't understand why they would require an XBox live account just to play offline, tho...

I'm not surprised at the monthly fee, that's been the norm since PSO V2 on DC. What pisses me off and makes me worry for the future is the xbox live requirement. In a few years when live is no more then PSO will most likely be completely unplayable even offline. Not good news for collectors. >
