Default One of my collections is going away...

Well, in our family's ongoing quest to clear out unnecessary clutter in our house. My nearly 13 year collection of GamePro magazines is on the chopping block

As most of you know, I am just about the only fan of that magazine around here...I have been since I bought their second issue back in 1990 (I think).

Out of their 177 or so issues, I have roughly 173 of them

But unfortunately, most of them have been locked away since our move, and they are just taking up too much space, so they must go

I don't think I'm going to sell them, besides, who would actually want them? And anyway, the shipping costs on that many magazines would be prohibitive.

I feel like, even though I haven't really looked at them in years, I'm losing a big part of my history...and I'm a bit depressed about it.

Just pulling them out, looking at feature articles on the upcoming Sony Playstation, and the Sega Saturn!!! They may not have been the most professional, but I've always liked them.

Oh well, guess it's time to say goodbye to my old friend.

If there is any comfort...my current subscription runs through 2006...

Let me ask, what would you do with them??

Oh man, I would love these! I'm sure reading them would bring back a ton of memories! If you really want to get rid of them, quote me a shipping price and I'll see if I can get the cash to take them off your hands.

You didn't pick the one that I thought would be most obvious:

[ ] Offer them to a friend on the forums for the price of shipping.

    PS not for me!

I agree w/ Joe and zektor, if I were you, I would make them available to a fellow collector, that way, you know they'll go to someone who will appreciate them like you did, maybe making your having to sell them a litle more bearable.

Count me as being interested if you do decide to make them available....

Put them on eBay, and put in a large font 'local pickup only! No shipping!'
Another day, another dollar... wake me when it's payday.

Hmmm...I actually did have 6 options when I created this poll...

Thanks for the input. I'll take "I eat live fish" to be votes for the "offer them to a friend" I was just worried that the shipping cost would be too much...but then I realized the kind of people I was talking to here...

I've had one offer before the responses in this thread...I'll let you all know!! (Meaning Zektor, you are 2nd in line...)

Book rate / bound printed material rate shouldn't be too costly. But still, that's a lotta GamePro mags.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

    Here's my offer:

I'll give you $20 for the lot and I will drive to your house and pick them up. That saves you from having to pack them and take them to the post office. If you ever find that you suddenly have the room for them you may have them back.

    How's that?

How about both you guys just cool it, and wait in line behind the others who have requested before you?? Thanks.

This decision still is not 100% final, it just looks that way right now

The cool it part DOESN'T APPLY TO YOU SAVEDMAN!!! I was writing just as you posted...

Thanks everyone for the input so far.

While you Earthlings quibble, I The Clonus Horror, will also put in that I would pay shipping for these so-called "magazines." Now, KNEEL! KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!

Maybe you should take starcade up on that "Personal Slave" offer. That could be interesting
