I haven't read about anyone having these though someone must. There were TONS of cancelled/unreleased games for the SS. Legacy of Kain was a biggie that was finished and not released. Anyone know anyone with Saturn protos?

Tempest and Buyatari have some i believe.
Sorry Ryan, but your girlfriend is in another school.
Video games & manga (my manga scanlation group that scanlates video game manga) http://www.north101.net/Chara/vgm/index.html
BuyAtari has all the ones I've seen. I have no Saturn protos (I wish I did actually).
Policenauts is the biggest "unreleased" game I can think of, but AFAIK no prototypes were made.
Tempest
Was the translation for Policenauts actually completed? I've heard that it was "almost" done, but no shots of the English version were ever shown in American magazines.
I have a few. Somewhere between 30-40 I'd say.
Saturn protos require a system disk. Now Saturn unlike DC requires 2 system disk on e red one black. One enables you to play 1st party protos the othjer 3rd party protos. I really don't play the Saturn much so I can't tell you which is which. I don't know if a mod chip or converter cart will work instead.
Adam

This came up a while ago, and supposedly one had sold on eBay. Did that end up to be a hoax or incorrect memory?Originally Posted by linlhutz

Got any obscure game stuff?
Waterworld does exist though I am not at liberty to say who presently owns it.
Adam
NHL '98 and Swagman were both released.
I know I know!Waterworld does exist though I am not at liberty to say who presently owns it.
He promised me it would be released. Someday...
Tempest

Wipeout 2097 (XL)

Burn: Cycle was reported finished as well but went over some video limit that exists on production systems but not development systems
Yeah it was on the Shenmue 2 disc...It looked like it encompassed Shenmue 1 &2 (I can't even imagine how many discs it woulda been...)I heard it was about 70% complete, though I could be wrong. It looked VERY good, for a saturn game.
Check out the Kleppings!
Make Way For Madness!

Infinite Lives
I understand that the programmer's used the Saturn's sound chip (which was a REALLY high-end Yamaha sound chip at the time) to help out with the VISUALS in Saturn Shenmue... the first and last time that was ever tried. It DOES look great for a Saturn game and surpasses and PSX game I've ever seen (I'm talking about the fighting segments of the game.) The texture work is still Saturn-ish, but the character models use a HUGE amount of polygons.
I was just listing US unreleased.
NHL All Star Hockey '98 was released. I was referring to EA Games NHL '98
http://www.segasaturn.org/NHL98.jpg
This, AFAIK, wasn’t released in the US.
Was Swagman renamed for release? I don’t remember this one.
I will add Waterworld. Thanks Buyatari.
Heh. I forgot all about Shenmue. Shame on me Thanks Captain Wrong.
Personally I find Sonic Extreme to be the most desirable. Not sure how much was actually completed but I remember Next Generation doing a Preview on it. If I can find the article I will scan it and throw up a link for anyone interested.
AFAIK some of the boss fights were done for Sonic Extreme and most of the first world, but nothing beyond that. There's no real playable version out there.
Tempest
EA's NHL 98 was definitely released in the US for Saturn. I'm holding it in my hand right now.Originally Posted by linlhutz

It's also included in the Saturn section on the DP Rarity List page: http://www.digitpress.com/lists.htmOriginally Posted by mikeetler
Has anything ever surfaced about the Saturn version on VF3? I remember near the end of the systems life they were trying to figure out a way to port this to the Saturn, knowing it would be a big seller and the DC was waay off. I recall there being talk of a 32x/cart like expansion just for this one game. They realized they couldn't do the game justice on Saturn and scrapped their plans. I wonder if they programmed anything using the sound chip in a similar way.Originally Posted by Atari7800
