Saturn protos?

There was supposedly a Saturn version of Bloodstorm in development... I'm pretty sure I saw the announcement in an old issue of Mega Play (EGM's spinoff magazine devoted to Sega game systems). They showed pictures, but they could just as easily have come from the arcade game.

BloodStorm was scheduled to hit both the PSX and Saturn, and early screens were featured in an early 1995 ish of EGM2. Both versions dropped from sight shortly after that, even though they were slated to be released by Christmas of that year. And at the time, its disappearance broke the heart of a 16-year-old me. I was disturbingly fond of BloodStorm back then.

I think that the screens in EGM2 were from the console port of the game, however, because they showed badly pixelated characters and ugly backgrounds. It's almost as if the game was running on a 32X.

I chalked up the lousy pictures to EGM's incompetance. The pictures in the magazine weren't always especially bright and crisp. My guess is that they took blurry snapshots of an early beta or something.
