Default What are your favorite Neo Geo games?

I'll start off with a pretty common one, and that's Metal Slug. A lot of people I know would say Metal Slug 3 instead, and granted that's a great game, the original was just incredible the first time I played it. I'm still as into it as I ever was.
Windjammers. Definitely the best extreme frisbee game I've ever played, haha. The single player game is pretty average, but throw a couple of friends into the mix and there's more trash talking and yelling than I've ever heard, and it rules.
Blazing Star is one of my favorite shooters ever. It's just so ridiculous and over the top I can't help but love it. IT'S LIKE A RAINBOW SPACESHIP EXPLOSION
Resident Evil Themed Rock & Roll HEX CRANK

    Hmmm…

Samurai Showdown II/III- I know many don’t like II but I have a soft spot for it. As a matter of fact I like it more than IV

Metal Slug 1/X/3- All three of these are worth owning in my opinion. They all are highly addictive and are great to pop in from time to time.

League Bowling- A great no brainer. Way more fun with 2 players though.

Blazing Star- What a great SHUMP. It has it all in my opinion. Not the best of all time but close.

Bust-a-Move- This game is like crack cocaine. Once you start playing it you’re hooked. The “Oh, I’ll only play it once” crowd has another thing commin.

Garou-Mark of the Wolves- This is quite possibly the best fighting game I have ever played. Amazing animation, amazing backgrounds and an amazing fighting system, Garou has it all. In my opinion the best-looking Neo game ever made. (Although I’ve yet to play Samurai Showdown V Special)

    Take a hike, wang-broom!
I swear I can smell your stinky hands from here!

Garou = great gameplay and great animations
Blazing Star = easy but super scoring system
Metal Slug (all) = i think you know the reasons
Samsho 4 = the style, the gameplay, the atmosphere
    Last Blade 1+2 = see Samsho 4
    NAM 1975 = just funny
Puzzle de Pon + R = i know it's just a Puzzle Bobble clone but i love it
Spin Master = a typical short good arcade jumper
Windjammers = funny for 2 players
KOF 2002 = the best KOF imo
Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 = also a good fighter

    ...and a few more...
You must defeat Sheng Long, to stand a chance......

I'm surprised King Of The Monsters hasn't been listed yet. The first one is definitely one of my all time favorites and for anyone else that likes it you've got to try War Of The Monsters for PS2. Awesome game!

    Garou: Mark of the Wolves
It is the best fighting game I have ever played. I hope the sequel gets completed as it was 70% done at one point. If you own a Neo Geo, Dreamcast or PS2 I suggest picking it up. Best version is on the Neo of course since the Neo's sprite engine is huge.

    Magical Drop
A lesser known arcade puzzle game but none the less a great game. If you ever played columns on the genesis it is almost the same except you are rearranging the jewels by pull them down and then shooting them back up. Great 2 player action as well.

    The Last Blade 1 & 2
Simply awesome games. The same gameplay awesomeness of MOTW but with swords.

    Metal Slug 1,2,X,4,5
I haven't played 3 and refuse to play it on Xbox.

    Metal Slug Advance(GBA)
This is the only Metal Slug I have played that is very challenging to me, very. I have owned it for about 2 months now and still have not beaten it. Love it.

    Baseball Stars 2
I have always loved this game, my favorite baseball game of all time. I plan on purchasing an MVS version of this game also.

Did you mean "many don't like III" and not II? Because at the neo-geo.com forums, SS2 is worshipped like a god on high.

No love for Rage of the Dragons?

I dig the heck out of that title now that I understand the fighting mechanics better.

I guess the dial in combos turn some people off, but they're not that great in and of themselves. It gets rad when you can do multi-dialins between juggles.

Plus the Engrish is to the max and that's never a bad thing.

My 10 favorite MVS titles are probably:

    Samurai Showdown II
    King of Fighters 2003
    Garou: Mark of the Wolves
    King of Fighters 98
    Ninja Combat
    Aero Fighters III
    Super Dodge Ball
    Money Puzzle Exchanger
    League Bowling

Sengoku 3. Fun beat-'em-up that never gets old to me. Followed closely by Windjammers, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, and Shock Troopers 2.

Aside from the fighters (not very good at them, but I do like all the various major fighters on the Neo):

Metal Slug (series, don't dislike any, though 1 and 3 are my favorites, easily)
    NAM 1975
    Sengoku 1 & 2 (not 3)
    Magical Drop 3
    Ninja Commando
    Cyber Lip
and, now that I've played it some more...
    MUTATION NATION

Can't really think of anything else at the moment. I'm not sure how I'd rank the shooters yet, though Last Resort has been pretty nice from what I've played.
