Argonaut?! I thought they only made some NES games...
Argonaut produced the Super FX chip, and Star Fox.
So far I haven't be able to find any info on this game Havoc. Strange...

Really weird...pretty cool find there. I wonder what it's all about.
It must be a demo/prototype of King Arthur's World, a delightful strategy game. One of a scant few that took advantage of the SNES mouse.

It must be, someone would've recognized it by now.
Jesus, give that girl of yours a big kiss in the mouth.
I just looked at some screenshots of King Arthur's World and it is indeed that game. Looks like a lot of functions were updated as well. When I played the demo it had no sound, is that how demo/protos are?
This is from King Arthur

Most definitely. Take a look at some of the prototype (or alleged prototype) rom dumps and compare them to the released versions. There were some sites that described them, but I'm not so sure I can link to rom sites, so... just search for Skrybe on Google.Originally Posted by XianXi

Wow, Cool find. Ya, I have never found a prototype for any game in a store. That's like a 1 in a bizilion chances that will happen. Any prototype is incredibly rare. Sometimes, there is only one copy of the prototype.
Dance Dance Toejam and Earl!
Depends on the proto if they did the music/sound part or not. Many protos have sound and music.Originally Posted by XianXi

Glad you could figure out what game it was... That game went through alot of name changes... Castles, Havoc, King Author's World.
You should try contacting someone at Argonaut games to see if they have any more information about it...
Ya its a cool find. She was passing by the store and asked me if I wanted her to go in and check what they got (I was at home). I said sure, she read off all the names of the games and when she said one snes game had a plain label I asked her if there was writting on it hand written or typed and she said typed. She said it said Argonaut Software on the spine and Havoc and it was only $3 so I said just pick it up.
So is it safe to say this is 1 of a kind?

most prototypes are one of a kind.
since you seem concerned with value ,its easily worth anywhere from 100-200 or more depending on how differnt it is from the released version
