    Default Atari 800

I can get an Atari 800 with 2 1050 disc drives (1 broken), joystics 3 or 4 power adapters , 2 switch boxes, and lots of software and even some games for the 800. All for $25.00. it's in alright shape but it is yellowing a little. Is this worth it from a collectors viewpoint? Or would it just be a waste of money. Let me know

The 800 and the XE are both pretty much the same in compatibility with the games, but for some reason I like the look of that old brown Atari 800.

It depends on if it's all disk software and if any of it is complete. I would guess that if you want it, that's a decent price. But don't buy it if you're expecting to sell/trade any of it away.

8-bit collecting isn't nearly as ravenous as console collecting - so if you're thinking you're going to make a killing on it you're likely mistaken.

Having said that, I'm a collector of 8-bit stuff and I'd pick that up in a heart beat for $25. If the one 1050's problem is electronic you can still pillage it's drive belt in case the other one dies. There are some great games for those classic computers.

If you had a choice I'd recommend an XE over an 800. There are games that only play on either machine, but the XE has more memory and programs like XL Fix can get some of that older software working on it.

If you do get it and want to move the stuff PM me. I'd be interested in the games and software for sure (and maybe even the 800 - although I already have a 400, 800 XL, and 130 XE).

I'd also be interested in knowing what games you get...

As an 8-bit owner, I'd personally pay $25 for ONE of the disk drives, if I wanted it.
