You know, I just don't get a lot of the classic shooter franchises. I find Gradius slow and uninspired, while the Darius titles have never interested me. But give me any R-Type title, and I'm in shooter heaven. And that's why I'm excited about this:

Sounds like good news to me! I wonder if the fifty different ships will have fifty different play styles, or if they'll just be sprite swaps of the R-9.
