Fear your thoughts because they become your words
Fear your words because they become your actions
Fear your actions because they become your habits
Fear your habits because they become your character
Fear your character because it becomes your destiny

DC Timestalkers. Even typing its name makes me want to spit in disgust.
Conform. Consume. Obey.
Is TimeStalkers REALLY that bad?
I heard some bad things about it, but nothing directly stating any points, just "it sux".
I seen it online for 2.99 used... if igured what the hell, why not?
Can you tell me what so bad about it? I've haven't played it yet, haven't gotten it.

Too many things to list. Firstly, everytime you finish a dungeon, your level resets. So you can go from level 20 or so, back down to 1. Next, the storyline is a piece of complete turd (yo uare summoned to an Island by a magic book for no apparent reason, and then lots of other pieces of land appear from nowhere to make the island bigger), and storylines make RPGs.
You can only take one main character with you at a time, and are restricted to taking 4-6 items into a dungeon at one time, so you can't go in with a fully equipped armour settings.
There is a hell of a lot more wrong with it too, but I think you get the gist of my argument.
Conform. Consume. Obey.
How about Quest 64?
Tempest
hmm believe it or not i enjoyed TimeStalkers..i admitt it was lame but i liked it lol...it was a neat concept just....horribly done....what about Guardian Crusade....lol that was lame

That Treasure RPG, Light Crusader, was ass. Treasure hasn't made an RPG since that disaster, which should tell you something. The game was so badly designed that you could actually push non-player characters around as though they were crates in Sokoban.
And of course, we can't forget about Hydlide. I was tricked into renting the game because "Hydlide" sounds a little like "Hyperdyne", the subtitle of Capcom's shooter Side Arms. It was nothing at all like Side Arms and about 1/1000th as good as any other role-playing game released on the NES. Nothing quite matches the sheer excitement of endlessly pushing your character into wasps and slimes, crossing your fingers and hoping he doesn't die during each encounter. The graphics were majestically awful, too... the nigh invincible black dragon you have to fight near the end of the game looks more like a tiny, misshapen gecko.

I disagree, I like Hydilde. Of course I'm one of the few...And of course, we can't forget about Hydlide.
Tempest
I played Super Hydlide on the Genesis before Hydlide... it was fuckin sweet... graphically a little ugly.. but a fun and well thought game.
So while browsing roms I figure, why not give the original a try...
God... not good... maybe if I had taken the time to get into I might have liked it... but I just couldn't...

Super Hydlide is the only decent Hydlide.
As for shitty RPGs....I HATED Legend of Legaia (PSX) with a passion. Absolutely could NOT stand that game. Same goes for Saga Frontier (PSX), Sorcerer's Kingdom (Genesis), Rings of Power (Genesis), Tecmo Secret of the Stars (SNES), and Lufia I and II (SNES).

The Legend of Dragoon. I bought that thing while waiting for Chrono Cross to be released, and good GOD did I hate that thing. From the extremely boring storyline to the "push the buttons eight hundred times to make a decent attack" to the fact that it was just too damn long, it just drove me up the wall. And when I finished it, I immediately sold it on ebay just so I wouldn't have to look at the damn thing.

Maybe not worse, but some of the most over-rated:
Final Fantasy X
Threads of Fate
Saga Frontier
Rend, slaughter, devour your enemies. There is no other way to survive. You cannot escape your hunger, Warriors of Purgatory

I was not a fan of Final Fantasy 8, nor did I like Beyond the Beyond much at all.

Not the worst, but the most dissapointing RPGs ever:
Secret of Evermore - Hey, let's take The Secret of Mana and make it boring! There's a real sequel already? Bah! It probably pales in comparison to the awesome storyline and magic system the American team is working on.
Seiken Densetsu 3 - Certainly not as bad as Evermore, but after drooliing over pictures in magazines for years it was a big dissapointment when I finally played it. Most people complain about the storyline, but for me what killed it most of all is the battle system. It's just so sluggish and awkward compared to Secret of Mana's.
Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete - After playing the remake of The Silver Star, I came to the conclusion that the first game was vastly inferior to the second. It turns out the overrated remakes just really, really suck. I still haven't played the original version of The Silver Star, but I have had the Sega CD version of Eternal Blue since it was originally released. The remake is a travesty. Take the original and replace the dungeons with boring cakewalks, make the music sound extremely muted, emotionless, and out of tune, throw in some grainy anime FMV, and you have Eternal Blue Complete. The Lunar remakes also both contain the worst kind of non-random battles. The kind where actually avoiding battle is impossible half the time and the other half you spend more time trying to run around the damn sprite than you would killing the thing or running away.
Ephemeral Fantasia. Sweet Sophia, that one sucked beyond all measure. The graphics looked like a PSOne game, the characters and dialogue were insulting (stick to writing awful anime, Riku Sanjo), and the battle system was the most wretchedly boring thing I've ever seen in an RPG. And the storyline makes you sit through the same lifeless scenes at least twice, with only minor variations in them. Ugh.
And let's not forget Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It's not awful, but it's a tedious disgrace to the series. I'll never understand why Square decided to make a "beginner's RPG" when the regular Final Fantasies have a learning curve fair enough for any player to enjoy.
And how is Threads of Fate overrated? I hardly ever hear about that one.
What about Dragon Warrior VII? Any game where you can play for 3 hours and not fight a single battle is crap in my book.
Tempest
I'd hoped no one would bring up Quest 64.
Another day, another dollar... wake me when it's payday.
still playing games
wtf???? seiken densetsu 3 is one of the best rpgs i've ever played, SoM has a shitty battle system, not sd3! and i really do like the story of sd3 and just look at the graphicsOriginally Posted by Li Wang
