Well, Phantasy Star IV was great. And ... now for my dirty little secret ... I acutally really liked Buck Rogers - Countdown to Domesday. And still do - played it through again recently, and enjoyed it just as much!

I'd have to say Beyond Oasis. I just like the game's atmosphere.

Sword of Vermilion. Great game, very underrated. All of the anal rententiveness of your stat tracking rpg, but with real time battles (with very cool looking bosses).
Also an anomaly, as it's a "5 Meg" game. Usually games came, if not in multiples of 4, at least as even numbered "meg" games. What a shitty senetence that is, but I'm blasted and don't care to fix it up.
Shining Force (especially the original) and Warsong are my two favorites.
I also really liked Starflight and Beyond Oasis.
I'm one of the few people who did NOT like Sword of Vermilion. I thought it was way too short and way too linear. I got the game from my Dad for Christmas "back in the day" and was finished with it before Christmas holiday was over.
I also didn't care for Landstalker. The game is nice to look at, and I'm all for those action RPG's but I thought the graphics in Beyond Oasis were much better, as was the action. And some of the platform puzzles in Landstalker were just too frustrating for me.
D&D Warriors of the Eternal Sun is one of my favourite Genesis RPG's No one ever talks about it. I also enjoy the standard Shining Force 1 and 2 and Warsong. Starflight is another gem too(gotta have the starmap!)I have never played the Phantasy stars but I am getting PS4 in soon so I will give it a try.
Landstalker is the best game on the system, by far. Absolutely fantastic... and it has NIGEL.
Might & Magic, King's Bounty (Close enough!), Starflight, the Lunars. Very nice.
