That game had POTENTIAL!

There are ROMS of at least two prototypes out there... X-Men and Virtua Hamster. Both are unfinished but the first couple of levels of the X-Men game appear to be fairly complete. Think the PSone/Saturn HULK game and you'd be close. Virtua Hamster is much less playable and has no clear goals.

Wasn't Out Run planned for 32x at some point? It would've been along the same lines as the Space Harrier and Afterburner ports... it remember hearing that it was originally 32x, and then they moved their development to the Saturn version.

It became Knuckles Chaotix.Sonic 4 Sega Action
Comix Zone never had a 32x sequel. They toyed the idea of a nextgen sequel possibly in 3d, and a few concept arts came out, but that was it.
I remember seeing a list somewhere with Super Street Fighter II Turbo being in the scrapped projects list. I've always wondered how that port would have turned out (big fan of the game).
Flying Aces...was that gonna be a sequel to Racing Aces?

WTF is a Dim-Mac?!?!?
We did a comprehensive look at what happened to Virtua Hamster over at Sega-16 a few months ago. It's really unfortunate that it never came out.
the betas of vr hampster and xmen have been released.
i tried them on my tototek flash cart.
vr hampster is very basic, xmen was starting to look very solid.

I would love a Comix Zone sequel.
Yeah, as the Sega-16 article says, evidently Virtua Hamster was nearly completed before being cancelled, and the almost-complete version does exist somewhere out there... hopefully someday we see it get a public release somehow, the early beta rom was just fantastic, it'd have been one of the best games on the 32X no question in my opinion...
The X-Men game was looking good too, but I don't know if it got much farther than that. Who knows, I don't.
It'd have been interesting to see Racing Aces on a system that could actually handle polygons... the game had an interesting concept, but the hardware seriously held it back.
Yeah! I played that game all the way through when it was "current". It's really chunky at first and almost unplayable until you get a faster plane. It's one of those experiences that grew on me. Especially when I had something random pop up like the black market vendors. The rival AI was also particularly nasty (and IIRC, the rivalry would stick during the entire game, not just one race). Plane Crazy is supposed to be a spiritual successor, but it's "enh". I always imagined Propeller Arena was also an unofficial sequel, but we all know what happened there.
Sorry. Ranting. Damn, I wish I could see what the 32X prototype is like (if one was even made).
