Default Taboo the sixth sense for NES

One of the worst products for NES, written by RARE?
Box says: RARE Coin It, Inc
The UK RARE, of DKC and Goldeneye fame?

They write Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, one of my fave NES games, and then this?

    Hard to believe.

RARE made so many games for so many companies on the NES...its crazy. A couple more off the top of my head: Jeopardy for Gametek, Time Lord for Milton Bradley, and Solar Jetman for Tradewest. Actually if you look at the wiki for Solar Jetman you'll say it was "designed and developed by Zippo Games for Rare and released in the US by Tradewest". At the very least they had their hands on a lot of games during the NES era.

Another great title is Snake Rattle N Roll. Also made by RARE I guess they got famous and known when they released Donkey Kong Country for SNES.

    Lets not forger Battletoads.
...and R.C. Pro Am. Even if the computer cars are cheating bastards in the later races. Still love it, though.

My first PC games and favorite game of all-time.

They were fairly famous and known when they were releasing Spectrum games as Ultimate Software... provided you knew what a Spectrum was.

Taboo was a shitty game, face it. The board game is fun, though. Also, I will slit your throat if you talk shit about Time Lord, you've been forewarned.

Actually, Taboo was not a shitty game, because it was not a game. Though I can see how you would be disappointed if, for some strange reason, you were expecting it to be a game when you first popped it into your nes.

I agree with 'Morbis on this one; it's not that it's a bad game, its just that it isnit a game at all. heck, I still bring it out every so often just for a quick laugh.

still, those scenes where the cards are shuffled can give you quite a headache

I remember reading in some game magazines back in the day that Taboo was supposed to be packaged with some kind of velvet pouch to hold the game in. I think that video game show that had the cartoon with all those Acclaim characters even mentioned the pouch for Taboo too in a review segment. I found a sealed copy in a pawn shop about 10 years ago and it didn't come with any pouch.

Did anyone ever see any copies of Taboo that came with a carrying case? Or maybe they just included it with advance copies of the game.

I think it's also written in the manual that it comes with a pouch, but I don't know anyone that has found one. There was a discussion about this on nesworld.com forums a while back.
I'm always looking for new boxed NES accessories. If you've got any for sale, shoot me a PM!
