800 for sentimental reasons. My first introduction to a computer and it was different than what anyone else I knew had as a computer at the time. It was also the first computer I ever went online with. Loved those Atari BBSs and war boards!

The IBM style keyboard rocks, too. Big, beige, and bad! Oh yeah!

I like the XE best. Since I was a C64 ownerin the day, none of them have any sentimental value. I have the XE and the 800xl and I just find the XE has a unique style. I like the composite video/audio out built in and I usually keep the keyboard in storage so it just looks like a console. XE all the way!

I like the XEGS but if I had to pick a single keyboard-style Atari 8-bit computer it would be the 130XE. It's just the right blend of beige "90's" and efficient design. Plays all the carts too, which is the most imporantant thing to me and the reason why the 400 isn't on top of my list.

I've never used any of the XE machines, but my favorite is the 1200XL. It was my first game machine, and there was just something sleek about the design that I always enjoyed. Unfortunately, the system is getting on in years and it's becoming very difficult to remove the carts from the awkward side slot, so I'm going to have to invest in a new machine (probably an XE, from the look of these responses.)

I've got a brand new in box Atari 130XE that I'll sell for $55 plus shipping, let me know if you're interested.

I gotta go with the Atari 400. I'm only now getting into the Atari 8-bit machines, and really only plan to use mine as Yet Another Game Machine With The Word Atari On The Case. But I love the design of the 400 - it's all so smooth and Star Trek: The Next Generationish with that flat panel keyboard. I just love looking at it.

At some point, I'll quit staring at the fool thing and actually procure some games for it. :P

    Hooray for the 400!
