    Default DOSBox 0.70 Released!

It's been along time coming, but it seems the latest version of the ever-popular DOSBox is now available. If you've only been using 0.65 and not the CVS versions, apparently you'll find the speed increase to be quite remarkable. Plus, there's auto-guessing for the number of cycles now.

I had no idea a new release was so close until I went to ykhwong's site and saw RC3 the other day. About damn time a new official release made it out. The list of changes since six months ago is fucking massive.

Alone in the Dark has been working in it for a while. If you need any help getting the CD version up and running, let me know and I'll whip up a dosbox.conf for you.

Hopefully it'll be able to run more of my classic games.

Thanks for the heads up! There's lots of older stuff that I'd like to dust off and see how time has treated it

MDK worked peachy in WinXP via the Win95 executable (for fun, check out the 3d benchmark in the game on any PC released in the last 5 years). Last played through it about two years ago, so I guess I'm pretty due for another run, too. Fucking classic.

Does it work better if you use a Glide wrapper?

I never really bothered since D3D mode worked fine. FWIW, Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper is reported to be fully compatible with it *shrug*

I could never get my copy to work under XP. Under DOS or Win 95 mode... It usually crashed after the Shiny logo.

I've never given DOSbox a try.. Now is as good a time as any.

/me waits patiently for the Linux port to get updated.

(I mean, sure, I could compile my own version from the source code, but what fun would that be?)

I just installed it. I tested it by installing and running an old version of SimAnt. It works just fine!
