    Default EGM April Fool's?

In the new EGM, I saw an "exclusive preview" of a new game.
Long story short, it was a Wii exclusive Kingdom Hearts game set in the Mushroom Kingdom. It is supposed to be a game developed by Square, Disney, and Nintendo. At first, I went insane with joy, then the more I thought about it, the more I thought, "This is probably crap." I check the cover, sure enough....it's the April issue.
    True? False?

    False.
    It's an April Fools joke.
I did a quick search and found nothing. Then, I decided to check out 1ups message boards and sure enough a topic talking about the same thing with a long discussion in the Wii board there and all seem to pretty much say and think the same thing. Fake.

They got me one time a few years back. They said a stack of new Neptunes (the rumored Genesis/32x combo) had been found in a warehouse and that were being sold for $200 plus they came with two unreleased games... Virtual Hamster (which is a real game) and something else.

I got all psyched out because I was hard into 32x collecting at the time AND I was broke.

Damn them. I really don't like these "April Fools" jokes they pull. Blech.

Yeah, they got me on that one too. I even had the credit card out and was ready to order, but I couldn't get into the bogus order site that they gave the link to. Took me a while until I figured out it was their April Fools joke.

The best April Fool's jokes are the ones that do actually fool people for a little longer than a few nanoseconds. Simple is best, elaborate isn't. To quote a great man: "The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."

That's par for the course for EGM. Their quality has gone down a lot lately. The magazine is tiny now (I think the last one is barely 100 pages) and their idea of "humor" is about 10 mastrubation jokes an issue.

Agreed. I use to know Jeanie Kim who worked for EGM when their office was still in Elmhurst, IL. She left after they moved out to California. In my opinion, that is when it went downhill. I cancelled my subscription about two years ago and haven't looked back. It may be a partial ad for GameSlop, but Game Informer is a good mag--as is Play (if you can handle their reviews).

I really wish we had mid 90's EGM still around.

My fav was when they said if you pre-order Zelda TP for the cube you would get a new, updated copy of wind waker. You know, two months ago I was thinking that Nintendo should make a game like KH with the whole Mushroom Kingdom and you can be a bunch of nintendo icons.
