Default Who needs a Chase the Chuckwagon?

Game Hits in Lansing, MI. It's your for $99. They've got a lot of other gems too. For 2600, there's Up 'n Down, the Xonox motocross game whose name I can't remember, and plenty of other mind blowing rarities. There's also a 5200 Mr. Do's Castle. And if you need a Vectrex, they've got it too - roughly $240. My Master Card was lucky to make it out of there alive. If they had Guitar Freaks, it would have been an all out frenzy.

Dammit, why do I have to live in Lansing, ILLINOIS?!

Any boxed/complete rare stuff or is it all loose?

Most of the stuff is loose, but I saw a boxed Vectrex Pole Position. Honest to god. I didn't even bother checking the price on that one. :-) There was some other boxed stuff, but nothing that really stuck out in my mind. I was a little distracted by the other things I mentioned.

The guy also had a supply of Intellivision, Colecovision, Odyssey 2, SMS, Neo Geo Pocket Color, NES, SNES, and more modern things as well. Believe me when I say if you're ever within 50 miles of this place, you must stop in. Any place that has a ROB on display is okay in my book.

You go to Game Hits, eh? Whoa, small world. I wonder if I've ever bumped into you over there?

P.S. I got two Chase the Chuckwagons for $2.50 back in 1996, when the pawn shops were still carrying 2600 games. >

Funny, I went to MSU for five years and I never heard of the place. Of course with those prices I probably wouldn't stop by too much.

I doubt it. Yesterday was the first time I had seen the place, and the only one in there was the proprietor.

It's kind of funny how I found the place. I was looking around the internet using my Clie and Nextel. I searched google for "lansing bemani" and I think it was actually Gameroom Blitz that made mention of Game Hits. I went to their site, looked up the address, and noticed that I was currently sitting about a third of a mile from the place (I was at about 4000 Grand River.)

It's incredibly aggrivating to live in larger city like Lansing, and the only classic games outlet has their prices jacked up so high that the only alternative is eBay. When you were there, did he still have the Neo-Geo + 14 commons for $1200? After I saw that, I decided it was the last straw and I'd never set foot in Game Hits again. The $240 Vectrex has been there for a few years now, although it does come with a few games in smashed boxes.

There aren't even any decent thrifts in Lansing, either. The local Goodwills have crack-pricing enabled (example: EA NBA Live game for Genesis for $20.06), and the VOA sells used Genesis systems for $50 (but you get a pile of sports carts).

Sadly, the best alternatives are Funcoland/Game Stop and the pawn shops.

Well when you think about it that's not too out of line. On Ebay boxed commons go for around $50 each so that's $700 and AES systems are like $200 so that's $900. Ok maybe it is a bit too high, but Neo Geo stuff is expensive...

Yeah, but he only paid the poor sucker $500 for it.

I have the system and 16 commons and haven't spent anywhere near that yet. But, alas, I am cheap
