Default Neo Geo thoughts on buying an AES

Im thinking of picking up a Neo Geo system. Ive wanted one ever since i was a kid and some day a while from now i will get a Neo Geo Cabinet. I know they pretty much keep there price as a console and games. What is a cheaper NEO GEO around here go for? I need to save up for that and a couple of games.
Anyone have one or want to comment on the topic?

    Thanks all!

You might have more luck getting an answer to this in the Classic Gaming forum, but to answer your question. You can probably get an unmoded US AES for around $150 w/1 controller. You can also get some of the earlier games like Magician Lord, Samurai Showdown, Baseball Stars for around $20 a piece. AES price have come down a lot in the last year, so even the more expensive ones can be had at a price cut. Either way if ya wanna get started with the AES, get a system and some of the earlier games and see how you like it first.

I believe on average you're going to pay around $300.00 for your AES setup. (Console plus a couple common games) MVS is the way to go if you're serious about playing, as the games aren't insane expensive. But getting an MVS board, Supergun or consolizing it can be a lot of work and pretty expensive itself.

It sounds like you want to do what I did- Get an AES and a few games to achieve that childhood dream, (it feels great!) and when you have the facility for it go for that Big Red. That's when the Neo Geo gaming really starts.

Pardon me for being a little salty, but I'd recommend using the search function of the board as this topic comes up about every three weeks and the answer never changes.

Also, posting in the right section would help, as has been noted.
