And it's priced at $50. I got to get this since I sold Corruption not too long ago, and really regret it.

This makes me sad. I'd play it....if it had the option for GC controls. I REALLY hate the Wii controls for Corruption...and I love those games.

I don't think the new Wii control scheme on Metroid Prime 1 and 2 is worth re-buying games I already have. MP3 did control the best though. Hmmm.

I thought the controls for the first 2 games were fine. There's no excuse to exclude Gamecube control options... well, aside form Nintendo's arrogant attitude that the Wii controls are the greatest thing ever, and if you prefer normal controllers you are inferior.
But this is Nintendo. They won't even admit that the Virtual Boy was a failure.
I never finished 1, and never played 2 or 3. It's a great deal for me.
Bacon, Bacon, Bacon, IT'S BACON!!!!
I gave my Corruption away to a friend, this is great news to me. All three games(in my opinion), are great. I actually liked the Wii controls in the third game.

I don't have a Wii and don't see myself getting one for a very long time if at all, but I'd pick this one up if it were to hit 19.99 someday. That's doubtful knowing that Nintendo doesn't EVER price drop games less than 5 years running. Take a look at all their first party DS games that are still 29.99+ retail.
Hmmm... I don't know what to do with this.
I loved the first MP but hated the controls. I already own it but have never beaten it.
I've never played MP2 but have always wanted to.
I own MP3 but haven't finished it.
I LOVE the wii controls for MP3. I think they're very well done. I kind of want this just to have the wii controls versions of MP1 and 2.
I think I'll buy this the instant I see it used.
All three are great games, and I loved the Wii Remote controls in MP3, but I'm not sure it's worth rebuying games I already have for a different control scheme. I beat all three when they came out, and there are so many other games that I'd like to buy or that are on the backlog, so I probably won't get it. If it drops in price, however, that might change.
But if you haven't played/beaten the whole trilogy, this is a great deal. All three games are amazing and the praise for the games is well deserved.
I loved MP, and I've never played Echoes or Corruption, despite owning both for quite some time now. I hope to one day play through them, maybe this'll get me motivated enough to do so (after several price drops, hehehe )
Nice. Hey, at least it's $50 for the set instead of $30 each like the Improved Play Control line. I can wait a bit to pick it up but, I'll nab one down the road eventually.

The original Metroid Prime is easily one of the best games ever made, and the two sequels have been on my to-play list for quite a while. Still though, since I already have the original, it's probably better value for me to buy the two sequels separately - it also feels nicer to have the trilogy on my shelf as 3 separate games than only one "compilation" case with 3 games on it... If they released some sort of nice collector's edition boxset I'd buy it instantly, but for this release I'll probably pass...
As a side-note, although I'm confident that MP2 and 3 are great games (I've played both for a few hours), I can't help but feel that Nintendo has slightly sold out the Metroid franchise, and for that reason even the original MP seems to have slightly lost it's specialness for me. Now, before all the 12 year olds here start yelling that "Nintendo is a business and always whores out their franchises lol", let me argue that Metroid is different. There have been very few direct "sequels" to Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros etc. - every new game in the series has been an attempt at something (even slightly) different or severely updated, and most of the time the end-result oozes so much quality, polish and inventiveness that it often re-invents the genre itself (just like the original MP arguably did). Although both MP sequels undoubtedly seem to have the quality and polish, everything else seems slightly lazy and safe on their behalf, i.e. "since we've already made this kick-ass engine we might as well pump out some more similar, sure-sell games and make some monies". I mean, when I look at screenshots from all 3 games it's honestly hard for me to tell them apart - and that for me means Retro Studios didn't bother enough to bestow them each with a unique appearance, style and personality.
Now, I'm sure that when I get around to playing the two sequels I'll enjoy them immensely, but that's completely irrelevant. My main point being that I would have respected and admired Retro Studios' creative integrity much more if MP "2" had, for instance, kept the first person gameplay but gone completely non-photorealistic (e.g. cel-shaded) for a change. Or MP3 could have been a 2D adventure with a graphical presentation equivalent of Brawl. Hell, I would have even welcomed a point'n' click adventure on the Wii or even a survival horror game, where Samus remains stripped of her gear for the whole game and is forced to avoid most enemies rather than kick their ass. Either way, something (even slightly...) different, something fresh, not just pumping out direct sequels like every other damn uninspired FPS out there... I've been waiting for a *new* Metroid ever since I finished the original Prime, and unfortunately it hasn't been released nor announced yet...
This is neat. I only have the first Prime and never beat it. I played 3 and loved the controls so having them in the first two will be great.
Not going to rebuy, but it's a great deal for people who haven't already picked them up. The Wii controls in Corruption were just about perfect, and it is tempting to go back and try 1 & 2 with them. MP 2 was just too difficult and frustrating for me to get very far. I only finished 1 with the help of GameFaqs (sadly). Corruption was amazing from start to finish - it had everything I loved about MP1 with none of the frustration.
If you can't do it with 8 bits, you don't need to do it!
Pass i've all ready finsh (MP1&2) on the gc years ago.Though i still need to sit down and finsh (MP3) still.... I don't see much point in buying part 1&2 again unless, nintendo was to throw in some more extras for the games. From the trailers i've seen it just a port with the wii remote controlls added.
I guess its good though for any person who hasn't played part one or two.
Wow, a compilation of all 3 for only $50? Looks great, though I'll probably wait for a price drop.
