NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.
Previously at NAVA...
- Unusual systems were set up, and gamers got to try something completely different on a Pioneer Laseractive, Emerson Arcadia 2001, Panasonic 3DO and GCE Vectrex.
- The store's previous high score on "I'm Sorry" was taken in a tight race by Mike "killersquirel" Markowski.
- The 6PM tournament was 3DO "Way of the Warrior". Mayhem ensued.
- "Squarepainter" stopped by with some of his amazing hand-painted videogame tribute artwork.
- Games and systems traded hands between attendees who brought their own trade boxes.
- Pictures tell it best:

This month: It's the battle of 64's. Nintendo 64 vs. Commodore 64. Which will attendees choose as the best? We'll have one of each set up in the main gaming area, each with a solid representation of its respective game library.
At 6PM it's TOURNAMENT TIME. We'll "wing it" and choose a game by 5pm based on whichever system is getting the most playtime. A head-to-head game will determine not only which system wins the day, but which GAMER. Will it be Goldeneye 007? Archon? Mario Party? Way of the Exploding Fist? Be there at 5 and find out!
This month's arcade high score challenge will be "Spelunker", a 1985 platformer released by Irem. I chose this because it was the first game that came to mind when thinking about my favorite Commodore 64 games, and this one also happens to be an arcade game. Spelunker is also an NES game, which is a predecessor to the N64 so there's your links to the day's theme. The person who logs in the highest score by 8pm will get a $20 gift certificate for the Digital Press store and will be added to the new "house champion" tournament plaque on the Wall of Fame located just above the arcade section of the store. Get your practicing in now!
