    Default 60gig PS3 RLOD

As the title states my PSP just recently shut down blinking red.

I gave it some time to cool off and tried again. The system hitched and shut down shortly after startup. I checked the harddrive and it still works so it looks like the failure is probably motherboard related.

I took a look online but am still kinda confused to what the differences are between the Red and Yellow lights of death mean. I am considering going the reflow route but I always see that connected as a solution to YLOD errors and not necessarily RLOD errors. Any advice?

have you tried the quick and easy fix? open her up and see if it just needs to be cleaned out? Perhaps replace the thermal paste on the processors?

Using a heatgun to "reflow" is a temp fix at best and a good way to easily kill something. Reballing the thing is a better method though usually $70 for a good reballing on ebay.
I fix things. You name it, I'll work on it. Want something modded? Recapped?

I will probably go this route then, anyone that you would recommend?

i always reccommend the less expensive approach before the more expensive route.

I plan to although I have already cleared out the dust, waited for several hours, and checked the HardDrive for failures with nothing working. I can check the thermal paste on the processors but if I end up going that route I'm just going to reflow (possibly making it worse) it anyways while its dissembled.

My original plan was to spend 20-30 bucks, reflow the machine then use it till it dies and/or sell it to pick up one of the new Slims that should be out around September-November. However if it really is just a matter of missing solder contacts and not something more serious, reballing could be a real long term solution without having to throw down another 300ish for a new console.
