Has anyone managed to play the ColecoVision Donkey Kong long enough (whether the 24K or 16K version) to arrive at a kill screen where the timer isn't behaving properly (a la the arcade Donkey Kong)?
For the 16K version of the CV DK, the timer's maximum is 99000 points (whereas the early 24K ROM issue is 8000 points max, just like the arcade version), achieved at level 96 (having gone through a total of 475 screens). Still, would there be a kill screen on either version if one were to play beyond 96+ levels?
Both the ColecoVision and the arcade Donkey Kong use a Z80 processor. I would like to know the code in the CV version of DK that computes its timer bonus and level behavior so as to trigger the kill screen once you get to the limit.
