I originally wanted to buy, but I think that is too expensive, so I decided to play a copy to get it.

New review and manual:
GunForce - Super Famicom
@dgffxiv
Even today, I think, Thexder is definitively a 'try it before you buy' kind of game...
New review and manual:
Yume Penguin Monogatari - Famicom
ya !
The copy protection will also reduce the time limit.
I tried that and couldn't finish the first level. I could get within sight of the goal, which makes me think it might be possible to still finish the first level in "pirate" mode if one where to play perfectly (keeping Pentarou thin so he can run is certainly a contributing factor). But wouldn't it be wonderfully cruel of the game designers to make the game just short of possible in pirate mode?

Miracle Girls - Super Famicom
@SparTonberry
Waooo, I didn't know it also reduced the time limit, I'll have to test that out. Thanks for the info.
I tried the 'Pirate' mode as well and you're right, it *may* be sort of possible to complete the game, but the shooting phases are brutal... I love what Konami did here, if you 'pirated' the game back in the days and quickly tested it, you could have thought that the copy worked
Added manuals for Bouken Danshaken Don (PCE), Bravoman (PCE) and Burning Angels (PCE)
BravoMan is certainly a strange game.
I AM JAPANESE TELEPHONE BOOTH!
Sorry, I didn't have much time this week to work on a new review. But, in the meantime, I have added manuals for Cocoron (FC) and Hector87 (FC)
@SparTonberry
That's the only part I like about Bravoman, its infinite weirdness. It's what keeps you going to the next level
There was also a canceled Mega CD game that was likely a sequel to Cocoron.

Parasol Stars - PC Engine
@SparTonberry
Waooo, you just blew my mind! I remember reading something about this game in a French magazine back in the days, but I never connected the dots. This is amazing ! I'll DEFINITIVELY do more research about this and add it to the site, thank you so much for the information !!!!!

Western Kids - Famicom
Hey, nice site, and nice links here. Lots of good info to mull over. Gonna give that Western Kids a shot sometime.
A darn shame that Cocoron sequel wasn't released; it was apparently so amazing it caused EGM's staff writer (using that term advisedly) to forget whatever they were doing at the beginning of that sentence.
Cyber Core - I'd like to get the X68000 version of this game, sometime. Will have to do a comparison against the PCE release sometime.
New update and manual:
Side Arms Hyper Dyne - PC Engine
@Ed Oscuro
Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm happy you like the site
I have the X68000 version of Cyber Core and from what I can tell, it is very close to the PC Engine game, but with better graphics. sounds and music (the introduction sequence, where the man turns into a bug, shows more detail). Here is a video by Vysethedetermined:
