Default Proper storage for NES Power Pad

So at its advanced age, I know it may be a futile effort but I'm actually interested in taking this thing out of the folded condition and storing it 'properly'. Trouble is I don't really know what 'proper' is for these things, or if 'folded neatly up' is the right way of going about it. Any ideas?

I keep my powerpad hung by a suit wire rack that uses soft rubberized grips near the wall in my walk-in closet. It never creases, its easy to get at when/if I want to play any powerpad games, and I never have to worry about damage to it by it being folded up.

I store mine in the box it came in, and since its almost always in the box and not out in the open air it doesent get dried out and start cracking

Grab a 10-gallon bucket, wrap it around, store in closet or wherever. Helps keep it relatively compact and prevents having to fold it like a napkin
