Of the main Mario games (excluding minor appearances in other games), whi Mario sprite is your fave? I like Mario Land 2. Nice big sprite, great charicature, and it still keeps the main style alive.

I really liked the art style of Yoshi's Island, if that counts.

Paper Mario... heh, almost forgot about that. I'd definitely recommend it. The style of characters is not unlike that from Parappa the Rapper. I enjoy constantly pressing the Z button to see Mario spin, watching him quickly transform into a thin line then changing back into a plumber in the blink of an eye... I believe there's a certain vase in Boo's Mansion that transforms him into 8-bit Mario. Good times...

I'd classify Paper Mario as my favorite 2 1/2-D style.
