I'm currently working on the US Gamecube release and rarity list for the DP site.

It will include all bonus releases, Player's Choice info, and other "quirky" tidbits that can be found if you look hard enough.

Whoever said that it's too early to assign true rarity designations is correct. However, it can be determined which games or releases are more difficult to find than others.

For example, the "Adema" release of Mortal Kombat is much harder to find than the subsequent release.

Did you know that the original release of Mario Kart: Double Dash came with an Bonus disc inside, and had a special insert?

Or that the commemorative release for the (Sin Tzu) Batman game is different for the Gamecube than the XBOX? Gamecube comes with the Limited Edition Lithograph, and the XBOX comes with a Batman figure. Both limited editions are confirmed at a release of 10,000 each?

Or how about the confirmation from SEGA and Nintendo that the last official SEGA Sports release (NCAA 2K3) is in fact in a smaller quantity than for the PS2 and XBOX?

Finally, did you know that there is a special 2-in-1 release for the Gamecube? Outlaw Golf and Darkened Skye were released together, just like the XBOX 2-in-1 release of Outlaw Golf and SeaBlade.

All kinds of fun. There's a lot of cool things to learn about the Gamecube releases. I should have something to Joe by the middle of next week.

I did know that the Mario Kart was released in a Red box, and some within a Gold colored tin sleeve - VERY COOL!! We never get cool stuff here in the US.

Actually, no. I searched every game that was available in North America at the time from Gamefaqs.com's database, and then scoured the internet and various game-based sites and stores (like Gamestop) to find ratings for each game (and to see what other systems it was on). Spent quite a few hours on it, and do think... I probably could have saved a bunch of time just going to ESRB.com.



But at least this way I got to familiarize myself with some of the games I normally wouldn't.

well, i have NO US Gamecube list, so i don't know which of the ones on my list are pal-exclusive i don't think there are more than 5 though
