I found this NES game at Babagges today, Captain Comic for $2.99. The cart color is a periwinkle blue. Is it valuable or anything?

Nope. It's one of the more plentiful Color Dreams titles, they turn up quite often. But not as often as say, SMB/Duck Hunt
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.
The game is worth $3-$4. In Florida they are super-rare, but in other parts of the country they are really common. It can also be found in a Black cartridge.
That's actually the first time I saw a Color Dreams title actually. Is it worth for a collection though, even though the game's probably cheese?

I think you already know the answer to that one.Originally Posted by Kaine23

Fine, I'll get it later this week then. :P
It's a loose cart, btw.

Captain Comic is one of the best Color Dreams games... but in comparison to licensed NES games, it's still kind of weak. It feels more solid than most games by the company, yet there are still big problems with the design... enemies are generated at random and there's no real way to defend yourself against some of them. Plus, it doesn't have much personality for a game that's supposed to be wacky. Maybe the PC version captures that feeling better than its NES counterpart, I don't know.

It also has a variant where the label is on upside down. Isn't THAT exciting? Still, probably the most common CD game, and only a hair in rarity higher than most licensed titles, if not even higher at all.

Ok, light blue then...I'll pick the cart up later this week hopefully.
Nice start to a collection perhaps.

When I found a copy of Captain Comic on the NES, I nearly wet myself since I *adored* this game on the PC. Boy, was I disappointed. From the standpoint of NES games (and Color Dreams games), it's very decent. The PC is where it's at for Captain Comic. It's way more colorful, easier to control, and a heck of a lot more fun. I'm sure it can be found for download somewhere.
Stepping away from the NES game, there's a sequel to Captain Comic on the PC. Cleverly titled Captain Comic II, it's just fantastic. It features tons of items, environments, and characters. I spent ages (or so I thought at the time) on this game, and every time I thought I was through it, there was another turn. I never did get to finish it because I upgraded machines and lost my save game (crap!) Anyway, this one's worth a play if you can locate a copy. I'd dare say that as far as PC games go, this one could be considered a very rare one. Not too much mention of it, even online. Yummy stuff!

Not that I know of off the top of my head. Just try a search on google, I'm sure something will come up. Maybe underdogs has the original available?
