I dunno how rare the game is in Japan, or it's exact worth, but it is a good game. It's full of cameos and references to various horror movies. See if you can spot them while playing.
Also, is this a legit cart or a boot? Or were boots even MADE of this game?:

max - sounds like a decent deal for just the cart. I paid quite a bit more than that for my boxed copy. On a side note, it was when I got the game that I finally decided to get West Mansion up and running. I was inspired by it, what can I say?
But about the game - it's been a favorite of mine for several years now. It's a fun little action title that's similar to Monster Party in a lot of respects. It's definitely the strangest game in the Splatterhouse series... being that it's SD, the cute/wacky/bizarre factor is out in force. It doesn't really play like the other games in the series, but that's not a big deal.
Like Arnold said, try to spot the references to various horror flicks while playing it. There's quite a few. Of course, if you don't want to do that, you could always just go here and find out what they are. You may also want to go there just to see what I've gathered about the game... scans of the instruction manual, box and so forth I have there, as well as how to get the best ending.
Oh yeah, that cart's 100% legit.
Figures. The day after I buy a cart only one, I snagged this for $5 more on eBay:
Needless to say I'll be parting with my cart only one.....
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
Do you know if the free set of stickers comes with that one?
You got these both off of eBay, right? That's the only two copies I've ever even heard of being available there, other than my own, although I'm sure there's been some that I haven't seen.
Don't know if it has the stickers but I sure as hell hope so! Got em both on eBay and both from the same seller.

Even if you didn't get the stickers you still have one of the best Fami games of all time.

HA HA HA ....
Hey, does this game have extended sound or special mappers? That'd explain the tall case.
I'm pretty sure it has a special mapper, but I couldn't tell you what the number or type is.
Got mine today...no stickers
Cart was MINT but the insert and manual were only in decent shape....still a steal at $30!
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
That sucks that there were no stickers, but that's still a good deal. Try it out yet? I've had the urge to play my copy lately - I may just do that soon.
Yeah...it's awesome! Got to level 3 so far....GREAt game!
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
I gave in to the urge last night and played through it. Got both crystal balls, saw the best ending... almost wanted to play through it again after I was done.
Check this out - some long-lost codes for Wanpaku Graffiti that Arnold just dug up and sent to me! I haven't tried them out yet, but I'm going to shortly, in the meantime I thought I'd post them here if anyone wants to try them. Once I verify that they work, they're going up on WM in the next update. Thanks Arnold!

The first cheat lets you restore your life during the game. Pause the game
and hold A & B on controller 2. Then unpause, and your life will be
restored. It only works 3 times according to that page, though the cheat
seems to work on and off at times.
To see the credits without beating the game, hold up, select, and A then
press reset.
After finishing the game and sitting through the credits, press A on
controller 2 when the Namcot logo shows up at the end. You'll see your
completion time.
The last code is the best one. Hold A & B and down on controller 2, and hit
reset. You'll enter a test mode, which has a sound test, and lets you view
all the sprites in the game. There's also a sort of hidden easter egg in
this mode. Character 25 is the princess from the hidden Japan stage. If you
select her 33 times, she'll end up doing 2 animations she doesn't normally
show during the game where she takes her robe off. (nothing graphic) Select her 33 times again, and you'll get those graphics again only the second one is slightly different. (She looks more embarrassed)
Also before browsing your page about SD Splatterhouse, I wasn't aware you
could make Rick fart during the scene with the princess in the hidden Japan
level. If you sit through her dance without farting her dialog is different.
Instead of calling you rude, she says "Welcome to Japan! I will give you
crystal ball. Good luck to you!"
If Splatterhouse taught us anything, it's that bashing ugly things in with a bone is funny

I got mine for $10, just the cart though. No extras.
I also got a famiclone specifically to play it on, though I have yet to find a proper power supply.
I got two copies of this game in a huge lot last summer, sold off one copy but kept the other one.
This game has the creepiest boss music i have ever heard on an NES.
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!
