Default I played FF3-NES for First time! Didn't like it. :-(

Sadly. It was not hard, but it was boooooring. The story is not the least bit interesting (and quite sparse). I might play the 16-bit version of FF1-NES and FF2-NES (aka FF Origins), but I have my doubts. FF3-NES was such a lousy/disappointing experience.

In contrast, FF5-Super Nintendo and FF6-Super Nintendo were fantastic. I hear many say FF5 had a lousy story, but it worked for me.

I enjoyed FFV more than FFVI also.

    I did enjoy FFVI though.

Well other than the first one all Final Fantasy games are pretty easy. 2 is kind of hard but that's cause of how bad the gameplay is. I think for it's time FF3 was pretty good. I also enjoyed part 5 and didn't have any huge problems with the story.

FF2 I liked the story but still hate the battle system, which is what turne dme off to it. FF3 I do like though- it really start sout the whole multiple type worlds feel and begins alot of instituons in future FF games, mainly the first Cid and multiple airships.

All the NES final fantasy's were kinda weak. Kinda really weak. It's amazing they took off and Dragon Warrior didn't, because DW's series was far superior on the NES.

Actually to me the FF storylines really took off with FF4's epic. before then most them were x warriors saving y world and complete z miniquests along the way. FF2 for the NES had the most story of the NES trilogy to me and I think FF3 was a good springboard for FF4's epic (along with introducing all those fun classes for FF5).
