Played both last day and today & I don't see it. Not the battle nor the story. Quit after just 20 hours each. Should I continue or sell?

Wild Arms 2 was a game I never got into or finished. I really didn't like that game much....
Star Ocean 2, I think I finished it, but ALL OF THE EXTRA STUFF was just TOO much, I almost quit on that one.

sell star ocean 2. to me. please!
as for wild arms, i didnt like that one either.
star ocean 3 is great!
I played Wild Arms 2 until the end of the first disc. It was alright but i agree that it has a weak story. I got stuck at the end of first disc, because the game gave me the wrong information on where to go; so i never got past that part. I later found out that the destined place to be was completely different from where the game told me.
BLAST AWAY AND GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like both of those, although i've never gotten the chance to give them the amount of play they deserve. Damn my huge backlog!!!!!!!!

I liked the first disc of Wild Arms 2, but qwhen I got to the 2nd disc, i got bored with it. The terrorism plot is just more interesting.
Star Ocean 2 is my favorite game ever. I love the battle system in that game.

Star Ocean 2 isn't for everyone, but I'd recommend you give it more of a chance. The story isn't anything special, but the gameplay is great. There isn't much middle ground, so if you end up liking it, you'll probably absolutely love it.
Wild Arms 2 had a god-awful translation which I will not get into right now. The game itself is pretty "eh" for me. But it did give me one of the best videogame quotes ever:
"Yeah! 'V' for victory, sucka!"
I've never played Star Ocean 2.

I love Wild Arms, and still consider it one of my favorite RPG's. But 2 and 3 were paled in compairson to it. They just changed the games totally around and removed the fun parts.
Star Ocean 2 I enjoyed a lot, good replaybility, some tough battles, and a fun game.

While I didnt enjoy wild arms 2 that much, Star Ocean 2 on the other hand I consider one of the best games out for the PS1. When I got it a few years ago, I literaly burnt my first PS from over playing it as I had loged almost 300hrs in a single month from it. Give it more time. Explore the skills system. The best part about it is all the things you can do in it. The worst part about it is all the secret PAs and items you will need to get to enter the secret dungeon. Plus 87 plus endings is a bit insane. Sell them both if you want. These days Star Ocean 2 is fetching a tidy sum complete on e-bay. I dont know about wild arms 2 though.

Wow, Star Ocean 2 has gone up quite a bit. I guess Star Ocean 3's US release is creating some more demand for SO2. I remember when you could get a nice copy on eBay for 10-20 bucks. It doesn't affect me much since I'm not going to sell my 2 copies any time soon (or my Asian version). I just hope it doesn't affect the prices of the PAL and Japanese versions which I want to pick up eventually...
exactly! before SO3 came out i saw SO2 everywhere and thought "i'll get it later!" and it was like $20 everywhere. now its not in any store and its expensive onlineOriginally Posted by Aussie2B
I really really really tried to get into Star Ocean 2, but after about 30 hours, I decieded it just wasn't worth it to force myself to keep playing. Most of the events in the game are just tedious fetch quests, and whenever the real plot comes around, it never stays long enough. The thing that really killed it for me was the terrible, TERRIBLE teammate A.I. God, what were they thinking. The melee attackers would relentlessly charge an enemy, even if it meant running right into his attack. Even worse were the spellcasters. They would just go for whatever spell was highest on the list. If a teammate got hit, Rena would immediately heal with a fullcure, and her MP would be totally gone by the end of the fight. It just was too much of a hassle to try and keep these fools from screwing themselves during every freaking battle. /end rant
Square/Enix
'Nuff said.
Huh? First, Star Ocean 2 was made by Enix before the merger. Second, Enix has made some great games (Valkrie Profile). Third, Square Enix is still one of my favorite companies.
The hint book is worth big money also. I sold mine on Amazon lst year for $65.

I'm not really fond of RPGs per se, but I loved Star Ocean 2. It's got a pretty good story, and I liked how they let you choose between 3 modes of attack. The soundtrack is also one of the best on the PSX, IMO. I never really got into the Wild Arms games.
If you've spent 20+ hours on each game and haven't enjoyed yourself I'd sell them. I mean shit, I might think that they're great but if you're not having fun with the games why torture yourself?Originally Posted by farfel
Exactly. That's what I did with Wild Arms 3 and Skies of Arcadia Legends.
10-15 hours SHOULD be enough for any adventure/RPG/simulation game to know if you're going to love it or hate it.
